For operational purposes, a "group" is defined as two or more artists (ie., 1 DJ & 1 MC counts, too) who were originally signed as said group... cliques, units, collectives, families, etc., don't count.

    Here are mine in order:

    1. A Tribe Called Quest
    2. Outkast
    3. De La Soul
    4. Gang Starr
    5. Wu Tang Clan
    6. EPMD
    7. Public Enemy
    8. MOP
    9. Pete Rock & CL Smooth
    10. The Roots

I cant believe anyone had slaughterhouse, they really are wack as fuck. Individually they are all average except royce but when they get together they lose any talent they had. I cant think of a worse group, anyone got suggestions?

This isnt in order, the top 5 would be my top 5 though.

    Mobb Deep
    Mop
    Gangstarr
    Wu
    The Lox
    Pete Rock and CL
    The Roots
    Heltah Skeltah
    Hieroglyphics
    Jurrasic 5

Shouts out to Black moon, Jedi Mind Tricks, dialated peoples and epmd. Blackstar dont have enough material to be considered for me.

Some of you are breakin' the rules... DITC and BCC are collectives, not really groups... although they did make albums together, but still... I almost feel the same way about Slaughterhouse, but I'll let that slide.

Other collectives and units are The Native Tongues Family, Flavor Unit, The Dungeon Family, D-Block, G-Unit, etc ... The Diplomats are kinda in the same vein as Slaughterhouse, because they became a group after they were signed as solo emcees.

Jedi dope as fuck with classics

but the group been through too much change just like SLum Village

that's why I exclude them from my top 10 even though they've proven they can hang with those superior groups

longevity + chemistry are important factors in determining great groups
