I normally dig compelling visuals, especially if they are central to the theme, beautifully acted and directed. I don't mind tense action sequences with fighting and shootouts, but there are certain scenes that do take me aback, because of it's very nature, excess, or surpise element. What are some scenes in films that you saw that were just unsettling and hard to watch? I'll start... 1. "American History X" - the curbing scene is gruesome, I can't watch it. 2. "Misery" - when she breaks his ankles with that sledgehammer... ooooohh! 3. "What's Love Got to Do with It?" - I can't watch a man beat up on a woman like that. 4. "Raging Bull" - when Deniro's character punches out Pesci at his dinner table in front of his family... that hurt. 5. "Casino" - watchin' ole boy get pummeled with a bat was too much for me.
