Everyone wants to believe in haunted houses, even hotels... but the houses of God are never thought to be haunted. It would make for a cool story. I guess there's demonic possession and exorcisms and stuff... but never ghosts.

true you never do hear that...surprisingly. But I can guess that it's bad for business to say that about your church...whereas hunted hotels and houses bring in mad money.

if business was good, there would be "haunted" churches.

Id beg to differ. if u ever been in a catholic church that atmosphere is certainly unsettling
    especially empty.

True. You want the same people to show up every week too which adds a different dynamic. Haunted places draw tourists and people who seek this stuff out.

nobody can ever tell me that theres nothing going on. I lived in a "haunted house" for 13-14yrs. Im totally open to explanations other than dead people and ghosts, but ive witnessed the shit and know somethings going on. I just think we dont know exactly what it is yet. But its something.

never saw a dark shadow... saw a figure though, that was clear as day in almost pitch blackness....it walked towards me and then past my bed and dissapeared....saw an object move on its own with my own eyes 1nce, was real young and i barely remember it... Lots of things moved on their own and wed find out later..blah blah blah lots of other crap over 14yrs

anyways ive typed out the whole story numerous times and dont feel like typing it out again... as its a couple paragraphs and writes like a massive timeline of my life from my earlyest memory till we moved out of the house.

im totally open to it not being ghosts(as in dead people who never went to heaven or hell and stuck around)

but what i do know is there is something weird going on.

and @ original post....im sure theres haunted churches... just cuz you say you never saw or heard of them doesnt mean there is none.

    interesting thread.

i always found churches to be haunting looking, largely due to the medieval style architecture of it?

interestingly enough, exorcism of emily rose tackled this.

she got possessed inside the church, which fucked me over, even in the house of the lord you're not safe from evil.

Technically evil spirits are repulsed by churches so they linger in the parking lots waiting to tempt.

The bible doesnt believe in ghosts or contact from the dead unless its satanic so they dnt really speak about it as if its haunted but imo if there is any other place that is more haunted than a church I bet they posses most supernatural activity if there is any

Theres plenty of witches and demons and psychics and mediums
that attend churches, some even on a regular basis.
that is what they do. and theyll pray against the churches and
Atendance. especially if the church has moved into an area with a governing principality
like drug areas, or sex trafficking, or sexually immoral areas like ones with a high concentrations of strip clubs etc.

Of haunted churches, no. However, there were many stories of how people saw/witnessed statues crying blood - which has always proved good for church's business.

Back in the day there actually were churches who used machines to serve as mysteries. One such machine pumped red liquid out of holes that were placed where the tear duct in the eyes would have been. So if you've heard of things like this in modern times, it's all tales based on actual tricks churches used back in the day.
