That would be songs from the '80s for me... like Lionel Ritchie shit... who was the crushmaster king for those type of songs... "Hello," "Three Times a Lady," "Say You, Say Me," "Truly," etc... I have a collection of his slow jams and they're heart-achingly beautiful and sappy.

Then in the '90s, I would say Shai with "If I Ever Fall In Love Again"... or if a crush broke my heart and rejected me, I would listen to Bryan McKnight's "One Last Cry"

This decade, I haven't felt shit from R&B... that music died a long time ago.

No, I take that back... I like the neo-soul shit... Van Hunt, Donnie, Jill Scott, Eric Roberson, Tony Rich, Corrine Bailey Rae... but none of that shit that comes on the radio.

In fact, Corrine Bailey Rae has some great songs that run the gamut of relationship love.

    Especially if they were ringtones.

I could hear a song on my playlist & it'll take me back to that day, exactly where we were, the mood, etc....for whatever reason that moment in time was special or if it was something wrong.

Yeah, RealMS is beautiful, but she just became sexy with those mentions.

I was listening to some Elton John today... and I almost forgot how much I love "Can You Feel the Love Tonight?"... I don't care what anybody says... he's the white Stevie Wonder.

Word... but you know what? I've never even seen that movie... I remember it was very popular right when I started college my freshman year... but I've always liked that song. It was one of my shower-singing songs.

Samii, I've got a song you need to hear... it's by Van Hunt and I immediately thought of you when I heard this song because it's about the kind of relationship that you prefer...

If you're familiar with him, you've probably heard it before... it's called "Down Here in Hell (With You)"... I'll see if I can upload it.

lmao! I'm very familiar with "Down Here In Hell"...that has been on my iPod since about '05 or '06...its a great song. idk if i'd say thats the kind of relationship i want or not...i'll say that i definitely HAD that relationship...and now that i don't im just trying to adjust, or be "ok" with living in Heaven with no complaints LoL

"Where would I go for disappointment? ...
Love without pain would keep me wondering why I stay..."

as for the Lion King, I may be telling on myself, but I was an elementary student that cried during the Lion King..yikes!

I just remembered you saying that you appreciated those north-south extremes of passion, which is pretty much what the song is depicting.

    I'm more of a laid-back, peace-loving guy myself... I hate extremeties.

I really don't see passion as being a validation of love and committment... I really don't. I think love is more of a decision than a feeling anyways. Feelings are always tumultuous... and chaos can lead to destruction.
