STFU because it's not all "little kids." I heard hit em up when it first came out and while I like the song, there's no way it should be near number one. First of all while it was very energetic it was far from being a song that made me say "damn he could have justed ended Biggie's career" in the same way Takeover did when I first heard it. It was more of Tupac being pissed and letting the whole world know that he was pissed. Second, for it to be #1 on my list or one of the best I have to be interested in hearing the whole song. Every verse should keep me riveted. While I liked Tupac's verse I could do without the Outlawz verses. In fact when I listen to the song I usually listen to the first part and as soon as I hear, "Get out the way yo, get out the way yo," I skip to the next song. I don't do that with The Bridge is over, I don't do that with Ether, and I don't do that with No Vaseline. So, while I think it's a good song I don't think it should be considered as one of the best disses of all time. Hell, I'd take Against All Odd's over Hit em up.

no 'dollaz+sense' by quik? no 'acknowledge' by masta ace? 'acknowledge' has to be the most demoralizing diss record i have ever heard.

    quik ...
"Tell me why you act so scary /
Givin your set a bad name wit your misspelled name /
    E-I-H-T, now should I continue /
Yeah you left out the G cause the G ain't in you"

    ace ...
"See, I couldn't even find one ***** that heard of you /
I did find a few cats that wanted to murder you /
But I told 'em "Chill", I let 'em know you was my son /
And I promise I can pay support till you twenty-one"

That's what I'm thinking too about these fucking kids. Btw I think Real Muthafuckin G'z should be higher up...17 is not high enough. To me that was top 10 easily. Btw, I think that Jack the Ripper was a better diss than Takeover. But that's just my opinion. Oh and how about Ja Rule, Loose Change. The last line about Em got Em scared as fuck, so he called his whole crew to come back him up, but it was a good diss, in terms of personals.

Everyone knew the words to Ether and Wanksta. However, Wanksta prolly had better punchlines than Hit Em Up. This is what hit em up had in it:

    "I f*cked your wife"
    "You're not a player"
"Westside till I die"(dude was from NY)
    "Watch your back"

Wow, those punches were tight. [pus]

Fuck outta here wit that shit. ->

So what made that diss so damn tight? Cause all I see is some stuff any random hardcore/thug rapper at that time could've or HAVE said.

the first 'bout 10-14 bars of Nail in the Coffin is the hardest beginning to a diss track EVER... and Takeover's last verse is iller than Ether but the rest of the track is ehhhhh.......

Blueprint 2 (why's everyone sleepin' on this???)

ummm... and Quitter and I Remember by Em are two of the hardest diss tracks ever... add Malcolm X by Royce and the Shit On U diss by Royce also

and the Hit 'em Up was just huge cuz it was sooo blunt and rude.... shit was madd disrespcetful

See this is the fuckin problem, people get rap music confused with real life just like Joe Budden said. Tupac was on some real life shit in Hit em up. Talking about killing people and fuckin their wife doesn't make it great rap it just means he views Biggie and Puffy as enemies. Any mutha fucka in everyday life can say that shit so, just because you put a beat behind it doesn't make it great rap. Like I said I think it's a good song but I'll take Against all odds and lots of other songs over it in terms of best dis records of all time.
