back down is a piece of shit
and ether > takeover and i love jay
Ether > Takeover.
Back Down made Ja look like a piece of shit.
hit em up is the most powerful and vicious lyrical assault on a rapper ever. That shit was PERSONAL nobody has the guts to come out and say the things pac said and the way he said them. I mean he talked about shit like "ill make sure your kids dont grow" "shit about fucking his wife nothing was subliminal, hitemup has the most lasting effect. shit like takeover and ether are boring. Where as hitemup is just an all out attack that anyone can bump when thier angry at someone.
long kiss goodnight gives me chills...... that should be on there
Takeover > Ether, yea I said it.
Hit Em= eqauls top 10 not top 3
that list said canibus > LL..........speaks for itself
kids dont understand hit em up no more cause its not in context...
back when it came out it was un-fuckinbelievable...
it definetly deserves no.1..
omg @ the fuckin blasphemy though...
ether > takeover fuckin easily....have people forgotten the day ether came out people were BURNING jay z cds in the streets of new york?
No XXL is right you fucking geeks.
HAHAHA @ HIT EM UP.
and nail in the coffin being 18?
that aint even eminems best track.
Took the words right out my keystrokes.
So what were the best punchlines in hit em up? Please explain.
Talked the most shit outta anybody and ended up bein the 1st one to get murked. And don't give me that "he knew he was gonna die so he's the realest" shit...that didn't make him the realest, only the dumbest.
And his shyt talking wasn't all that clever either, but the fact that it was "personal" made it the best? Um okay, so why isn't "Wanksta" number 1, matter fact, why isn't that song on the list? [pus]
Good ass point. I'd still bump Wanksta before Hit Em' Up tho, only cause' of the beat. If only 50 hadn't came so weak on it.
I don't think y'all would get it, especially if you weren't around when Hit em up dropped. It had nothin to do with the lyrics, or even the purpose of it. The shock appeal alone made it an instant classic. There are many different types of diss tracks that come for different reasons, with some songs havin more valid reasons than others. Hit em up's strength definitely wasn't the lyrical content as far as being clever or witty, but because it was more than just brave. You COULD say that it ultimately got him killed but that's up for a different discussion.
I'd say this...if you were the opponent in each of these diss tracks, Hit em up would piss you off the most. Some of these songs would piss you off because it's like damn, he put me on blast...damn, I didn't know anybody knew that....damn, that is true about my career, but not too many would really make you be like FUCK THAT BITCH and really be hyped up enough to wanna kill em you know. I can even picture Jay-Z doin a real ********* laugh when he first heard "Ether" but I could never see Biggie laughin when he heard Hit em up. Songs like that put fear in the opponent's heart.
I feel most of what you're sayin but are you inadvertantly implying that Biggie feared Pac? Maybe Diddy did...but Big? I seriously doubt it.
That list is just okay...
