you know what, that shit is another reason too...
it's pathetic actually....samuel jackson is the highest grossing actor of all time beating out harrison ford, yet the muthafucker will never touch a best actor oscar
i've seen school plays with better acting than him.
I wonder whether a lot of you know what "good acting" really is.
Wtf.... if you're hating on Marky Mark, you'd better be ready for the entire funky bunch to stomp that ass for you son.
I'm sorry pop, but I don't see it.
She's okay... Hon cleans up like nobody's business, but even then she's just around the way "cute".
Tamara LaSeon Bass?
Now she's *mwah*.
And now that I really think about it Iggy I think Halle Berry is still the premier Black actress in Hollywood. Sanaa's good. Very good, but she hasn't shown us that she's as versatile.
Halle's does pain brilliantly.
I'm not certain Lathan can do that...yet.
Maybe she can. I just haven't seen it.
She's really only a 2-tool player at this point.
Halle's more like 3-4...
The new aliases get old, "son".
I love her eyes and her honey-brown complexion. I like around-the-way girls, not those fake, too-perfect model types.
Did you see "Phat Girlz?"
Awful movie, but I rented it for two reasons:
1) Tamara was in it... and in a swimsuit, thank god!
2) My wife is a fan of Mo'Nique
I've been diggin' on shorty since she premiered on "Boston Public" a few years back... and speaking of BP, do you remember the hot black teacher? The actress who played her, Sharon Leal, was also the last Dreamgirl in the movie after Effie left.
I can agree with that... Halle draws from her personal experiences... she hides it very well, because I hardly ever see it in her eyes... now MJB? That sister projected pain for most of her career.
I don't know why I've always hated on Halle... maybe because she's too fine. I just know that I wasn't impressed with "Losing Isaiah." She didn't showcase pain very well in that movie.
But Lathan showed some pain in "The Best Man," "Disappearing Acts," and "Love & Basketball."
Halle Barry is half WHITE people. why does everyone forget that shit?
like she was full black to begin with. "Oooh she's one of ours"
NO she's not! OPRAH is one of ours. WHOOPI is one of ours. QUEEN LATIFAH is one of ours.
That half-breed is an Aunt Tom, white-man-fucking-to-get-on-top, type slut.
I'll give her this... Hon cleans up something fierce.
Her red carpet shots are always easy on the eyes.
I definitely want to rent it now...Good looking.
My girl likes Mo'Nique. I don't know why.
She annoys the hell out of me. And she's not as cute/sexy as she thinks she is.
I've been digging on TLB since "Bellyfruit" (an indie film she did a few years back).
I was never a fan of Boston Public...
I don't recall seeing so much as one episode of it.
Leal is an attractive woman though.
She's frankly the Aretha Franklin of our time.
If she had any acting chops she'd be one incredible actress.
To be honest, Halle's an acquired taste for me.
I'm a big fan of her early work ("Losing Isaiah" and "Jungle Fever").
Somewhere in the middle part of her career she lost me though.
She's rebounded nicely...
I just saw "Their Eyes Were Watching God" last night.
I like that kid... uh... Michael Ealy. He's good.
The defining moments of Lathan's career.
I really want to see her snag a meatier role.
I'd love to see what she could bring to a "Janie".
Think they'll ever adapt "The Coldest Winter Ever"?
The right writer could make that one hell of a film.
Give me Mos Def, Michael Ealy or Derek Luke in a film adaptation of Ralph Ellison's "Invisible Man" too...
She identifies herself as "black," though... she's not like Tiger Woods.
Race is a social construct... we're all mixed up.
She's beautiful, man... even when she's so-called not looking up to par, she's still beautiful to me... I'm not swayed by all that glamour. She was beautiful in "Hustle & Flow" all pregnant and sweaty, too.
Yo, I was watchin' it with wifey and I was trying not to react too much to her bikini shots... ahhhh man, hun would get it ferociously... she's got the smoothest, most lickable skin ever... perfect breasts, a cute ass, flat tummy. She's worth the price of admission alone.
I don't like Mo'Nique, either... I think she's full of pride because she's big... in order to protect herself from derision, she has to inflate her ego, I guess...
Actually, I'll amend that... I don't like her comedy nor her acting, but I think she might be a good person... I heard her on an interview once and she seems like cool peoples, just too overbearing with the skinny girl rants in her act.
Okay, that's next on my to-rent list... fuck the movie, it's all about Tamara.
I saw some awful indie flick recently just to get a peep at Taral Hicks. I was hoping she would grow and get better as an actress, but she didn't.
Sharon Leal drew me to that show... and I stayed because of the writing and the superb acting skills of Chi McBride... then when I saw Tamara, it was a lock. I tuned in every week.
The more I watch "Boomerang," the more I think she did a good job in that, as well... she played a hurt woman very well... but I couldn't understand why because I think she was just attracted to Marcus' good looks, charm and power... yet it was real, because women do flip like that when you play them.
I didn't like that movie... but Michael Ealy is good.
Like I said, she may have to start sleeping around... either that, or hire a better agent... but I think she picks her roles wisely... it's not like she's in every urban film that comes out.
I never got around to reading that book.
Word... or Hill Harper. He's got that well-groomed, educated appeal to him.
i like his beer
"haven't you seen my movies...this is the way i talk" c dave chappelle
I'm not swayed by women overdone either.
I just think that even as a regular woman she's still just...well...average.
Can't argue with those lips either.
She can lose the ego.
She's beloved by plus-sized Black women.
I know quite a few brothers that think she's attractive as well.
Humility is sexy.
Don't tell me it was uh..."Forbidden Fruits"...the one co-starring Fredro Starr?
I was a bit disappointed myself, but that's likely because I read the book first.
Agreed. She actually reads scripts...I can tell.
She seems to be very calculated about the roles she takes.
That's a great quality for a Black actor/actress to have.
I just hope she isn't handicapping herself and turning down good roles.
I left his name off that list accidentally. I like Harper as well.
He's a talented guy. He was God awful in "Hav Plenty", but I'll excuse him for that film. There was so much bad acting in that movie you can't blame him.
lol..."IT'LL GET YA DRUNK!!"...i fuck with sam but lmao@snakes on aplane...im hoping he owed somebody a favor or some shit
