Yao Ming made several comments about Ron Artest from Beijing on Wednesday and Artest is not thrilled with what was said.

"Hopefully, he's not fighting anymore and going after a guy in the stands," is the Yao comment that got Artest freestyling. "I'm still ghetto," said Artest. "That's not going to change...Yao has played with a lot of black players, but I don't think he's ever played with a black player that really represents his culture as much as I represent my culture. Once Yao Ming gets to know me, he'll understand what I'm about."

I think Ron-Ron was going after Shane Battier in that statement.

The deal is shaking up to be something very interesting... hopefully not disastrous.

Let's see if Artest can infuse some Scorpionic fire into this squad without the flames billowing uncontrollably to consume team chemistry.

With the entire roster intact, the defense is going to be mad fortified. That much is certain. We may have even see those team stats (or better) we saw from the Boston Celtics last season.

I think what he meant by representing his culture is the fact that he raps, among other things.

Artest should destroy this trade and go to the Lakers where he has a chance of winning something.

All the Houston Rockets need is health and little bit of fortune reversal.

They were only 2 games behind the Lakers when the season ended after dealing with mad injuries. A full-rostered H-Town crew would have easily made the Finals had they taken the same easy path the Lakers did starting with the Denver Nuggets and ending in the WCF's against an old San Antonio Spurs team that just had to go 7 Games in the previous series.

Houston is the perfect winning environment for Ron-Ron. He'd probably implode and go beserk in a place like L.A. where Kobe and Phil would be too demanding of him and ultra-serious about "a championship"... something Artest probably doesn't give all that much of a fuck about.

He needs somewhere more relaxed that'll let his fancy flow a little bit and where his intensity will rub off and be absorbed in a good way.

Ladies and gentlemen... your 2009 NBA Champions. THE HOUSTON ROCKETS!

They were only 2 games behind LA with a winning streak that they got lucky as all hell with.

    Doubt that shit happens again.

It is what it is. Law of averages.

They won 52 games in 2006-07 and 55 games in 2007-08.

Truth is they were a slightly better team than the Utah Jazz who ended with 54 wins had they been at full strength (maybe even with Yao still sidelined if Rafer Alston were in the lineup for the first two games), so it all balances out.

Niggas trying to play Oden like a punk. NBA O.G.s talking about Oden was the best player they ever saw.
