    women in hip hop

we want it raw and primal
    make it hit the spinal
because we must match our male counterparts
since we don`t have the same parts
our bark has to be bigger than his bite
and then we must fight amongst one another
    forgetting that we`re someone`s mother
    wait
relax, relate, release another album from the womb
    Mommy will be home soon
but not before she drops it like it`s hot
demanding him to hit the spot
and calling him less than a man when he doesn`t hit it
    he doesn`t get it
    and neither do we
    instead of building from differences
we wish to gain knowledge for free
    the pussy, the pussy
    what a powerful thing
one step below a man and his bling
wonder why folks can`t wait until Spring?
    ....
when did we stop rappin` and start trying to sing?

First off, i'm glad to see some of your work again, it's been a long minute. I think every female on rm should read this piece, cause you spoke the truth in it. It's a shame, how yall gotta demand respect when it should already been giving.

interesting.. made me smile..frown.. the whole works... Im interested to know your thought on it.. is this your writing?

My thoughts.. in some way it speaks sense in an ironic way. but also there is parts that are very ironic in the lines that surround it

I fully understood u n this piece although I would always respect peoples artistic decisions, because singing is a thing I love to do, I do think that its important to address why females stopped rapping they way we used to. It's just as important to express ourselves in that way as well to show how truly phenomenal we are and that we can be just as "bad" as our male counterparts...Overall---tight piece

yes, this is my writing...and yes it was meant to be very ironic...these are the stereotypes/generalizations of women in hip hop and it was just interesting to see folks' responses...i was really waiting for someone to disagree

ah but you see how can one disagree with an ironic statement.. I took this in full irony and moronic way in which I presume you wrote it...

"one step below a man and his bling"

Even such simplistic statements such as that which screams with satire undertones just underpins the whole concept of the writing.

To disagree with one line would be to agree with the irony.

    Double Irony?

    I think so.

Nice peace and thoughts all the same Saggle...

you know I like to get on that'!

For some reason reading this really made me want to hear you recite it. Maybe to hear exactly what emotions you were putting behind the words.. Very nice work..invokes open thought and some nice issues.
