No. Adam gave the authority to Satan that God rightfully gave man.
Satan has all earthly authority over everything that is not covered by the blood of Jesus.

the bible says he is the ruler of the air. when he was kicked out of heaven he established his kingdom on earth.

the serpent in the garden wasn't satan, it was just a trickster animal character.

if it was satan, then why would god condemn snakes to crawl on their bellies as a punishment for something satan did wrong?

    Correct Reggie, very good.

    Genesis 3:1
Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the YAH Elohim had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath Elohim said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?

Notice it says "than ANY BEAST of the field"...that serpent was not Satan contrary to the majority view of bible students and teachers. Amazing that this is overlooked.

Satan's spirit went into the snake and used the snake to deceive.

Same thing today, you can be under the Spirit of YAHUWAH or be under the spirit of Satan.

Here are fruits of being under the Spirit of YAH

    Galatians 5:22-23
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

Here are some of the fruits of being under the spirit of Satan/flesh (or the carnal mind, which enmity toward YAHUWAH).

    Galatians 5:19-21
19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of Elohim.

do you perceive satan as an actual entity with a will of its own or is it more like a particular way of looking at the world?

the hebrew bible actually makes a lot more sense when you try reading it from a completely jewish perspective and try to filter out the christian interpretations that have been retroactively applied to make the entire narrative fit into a certain ideological framework.

According to the Hebrew scriptures the wicked one, that old dragon called the serpent, the devil or Satan is chief among the fallen, he has his own will and is his own entity. He has weakened ALL the nations, deceived the whole world and we all will be narrowly looking down upon him on that day saying, "Is this the man that did this ?"

He has power to go to and fro, up and down in the world. He tempts everyone. He want's to be like the most High, he wants to be greater.

And you made a key point. Scriptures are only understood with an Israelite perspective, seeing as how they wrote it and were the ONLY nation that went into a covenant with the Creator of all things. They have the oracles of YAHUWAH. Anyone can join themselves to the common wealth of Ysrael, though today Israel is in captivity for a season and will be given their land back and more once the Great King returns to war against his enemies and will have the government on his shoulders after he establishes the righouts Kingdom of YAHUWAH on earth forever.

He can seem so...but he a fallen angel.

A lot of people take on his image...by and large the whole world takes his image without even knowing it. Those people will not endure unto the end and may suffer because of it.

    Take heed.

A fallen angel is a wicked or rebellious angel that has been cast out of Heaven.
The term is found neither in the Hebrew Bible nor the Deuterocanonical Books
nor the New Testament. Nonetheless, Biblical commentators often use
    fallen angel
    to describe
angels who sinned or angels cast down to the Earth from the War in Heaven; Satan, demons, or certain Watchers.

But that doesn't actually mean he's a fallen angel.

Only that he's a fallen angel within context of a fictional narrative.
