uhmm i believe he lacks good basslines....
but most producers too, and Em is a relatively new producer so it takes time
basslines are the hardest IMHO because they cant be too simple or too technical n they g2 boom

i thought his guitarist (which does most of the work) made the basslines anyway...it might just be the guitarist...well, i'm not a fan of his production anyway...a lil too "out there" for my new york ass

You can tell an Eminem beat within about 4 bars... They do all sound very similar.

I think they're cool though, brings some real mood into it. But he needs some variety

i think em's beats are dope. The reason why his beats sounded alike before during the eminem show and 50 cents album, is because he of course had to establish his own sound as a producer first. He has that dark/gothic/cinematic feel to his beats. That's why when he produced obie trice's album, he started to branch out already.

true @ he lacks soul. but ive always liked him more as a lyricist than as a producer. u can't blame him for having that style in producing beats though. i mean hiphop is anything and everything. his bassline on moment of clarity wasn't bad. Also, i think his soul comes in when he raps.

Eminem's beats don't all sound the same.... he does have a unique style. Moment of Clarity doesn't sound like Got Some Teeth. Till I Collapse doesn't sound like The Cross. Personally, I liked The Cross beat.

But I'm a huge fan, so my opinion's a tiny bit biased. :D

    Nas - The Cross

The point that you can pick out an Eminem beat easily is directly related to they all sound similar, I am not a fan of Eminems production personally

Moment of Clarity was a downpoint for me personally, I even played it for ppl that don't produce or rap and asked them to guess who produced it most of them nailed it in 2-3 tries so..

i can pick out a eminem beat just as fast as i can pick out a kayne beat, a alchemist beat, a primo beat, a dre beat....

does every producer have to sound so drastically different on every track in order to get some of you peoples respect?
