I say its Slug from Atmosphere... dude has done so much for the underground rap world with the rhymesayers label...

plus atmosphere is just a phenomenal group with several albums of excellent music... not sure more rappers have done more for the underground scene.

What do u guys think? Use whatever definition of underground you want.

btw, this is still the same ole dream, I'll b using this account now...

shit I forgot about Vinnie Paz.

Is AZ really underground though? I've always seen him as a less than popular mainstream artist

lol I'm not tryin to be THAT strict for this thread tho... AZ can count as underground I guess... I just didn't know that others considered him underground after his widely acclaimed feature on illmatic.

I'd say it's a tie between Vinnie Paz and Slug.

I don't even think anybody considers them Hip-Hop at this point. But you know what, they did their thing and created this massive empire. Aren't them the most succesful indie rappers?

Tech N9ne is the most successful independent rapper but, love 'em or hate 'em, ICP are no slouches either.

One of these youtube kids could be pretty rich too, but I dunno who signed and who didn't, and none of them are really prolific like that with albums and history to have plaques on their walls.

nobody even considers ICP Hip Hop so therefore they shouldn't even be in the discussion.

If you're going by not signed to a major label - it's probably Gucci.
