I was sitting in an airport on my way to see my ex, when I had the inspiration to write one of my favored pieces...I still remember the first line, though I haven't picked up my pen in ages..."I'm sitting in front of an open flame burning love letters to god..."

I figured I'd write this becausee quite often, it's where a poet is and the time and or a person that promotes thought or inspiration. Sometimes it's music, sometimes it's a picture, or that special someone in your life, or...just because...share yours, how many you can think of and so forth and so on...

like i have said a few times, open mics are excellent spots to draw inspiration. I can pull from any point nearly or any mood. went to an open mic one night and did like 6 poems. just based upon what was going on around me and off of what other poets were saying.
also if you can go to an open mic where they use free writes you can get some good shit out that way as well. if not start one in your area.
