Yeah, that songs fire. if he didnt sing over Timbos new techno sounding production I would like him so much more. I also hate when he sings falsetto for a whole song.

IMO from the late 90's on there hasn't been a better entertainer.

Usher and R. Kelly are terribly overrated. Both are God awful writers. As far as I'm aware R. Kelly can't/doesn't dance. I've never seen Usher on a piano or really any instrument.

The only one giving him a serious run IMO is Ne-Yo.

JT also does a good job in a wider array of styles.

He's releasing a new album this year..

I honestly think he should release a Country album, that's just me though.

    JT > The-Dream > anyone else.

You know, I usually agree with your musical tastes..

TP-2 doesn't even come close to Justified

And Chocolate Factory being better than Futuresex/Lovesounds is... insane.

    Wowza. lmao

Word man R. Kelly's been garbage forever.

"Stick my key in your ignition" [funny]

That literally one of the lamest analogies ever. His "style" [funny] of singing while talking or talking while singing or whatever is wack as fuck. It's like a shit stain on the underwear that is R&B. Almost as bad is that new dude talking about piss stains on the wall [funny]

Usher? Meh. I mean I liked the guy at first but I feel like his shit has been steadily tanking ever since.

I feel like both of them TRY hard to be some creative groundbreaking type artists and fail miserably. Their shit just flat out annoys me.

Future Sex, TBH I like it but not that much. At first I hated Sexy Back, but it along with a majority of the album grew on me. But Justified was a monster album.

Aside from JT, IMO Ne-Yo has also been shitting on those clowns.

Ne-Yo is a FANTASTIC songwriter. I still remember when So Sick dropped I just couldn't get over how good that song was. Same with Sexy Love amongst others.

I believe he also wrote Take A Bow which was another HOT song.

I keep reading/hearing about Ne-Yo being a great songwriter, but his lyrics seem to be a lot of the same recycled stuff on everything I've heard of his (which, admittedly isn't that much, as I never bothered to listen to his albums). Can someone point me to a specific example of a song he's written that blew you away lyrically? Or even a verse, a chorus, anything.

As for JT, I really enjoyed Justified, but the sophomore effort was lacking outside of SexyBack. He said he was gonna do a blues/southern rock album when he first announced he was going solo, but I think it got put on the back-burner when John Mayer put out his blues trio album (which was also good). I still think that could be a good idea, but I don't know about a "Soul" album, though.

It can be a help when it comes to working a crowd/entertaining. Mike wouldn't have been MIKE if he couldn't do all those spins and Moonwalking and all that stuff.

as far as R. Kelly goes, i dont know any R&B fans that don't like TP-2. And Ignition is corny, but that album also had songs like Step In The Name OF Love, Forever and Dreamgirl. I dont care for much from him after that album though.

And i dont like Usher's last albumm but its better than JT's last imo. Can't really compare the two though, cuz JT's was a pop album

See Van Hunt's Highlights for a MUCH better treatment of similar material, heck, Leona Lewis had a song by the same name on her album that I'd put up against it.
