my biggest income from ASCAP was $4800 for a quarter which includes my artist take and my publishing take (two checks sent about 3 weeks apart). This income does not include the synch fees which are paid every 6 months. My biggest synch fee check was just over $5000. I don't make my living off this stuff yet, but I plan on it soon.

Is that primarily from tv/films or having songs on the radio?

got around 5,000 from bmi not ascap though.

i had the song placed in fox sports for a sports show intro.

i got a hook up to a couple studios film departments. If you own sole publishing it works to 25- 50,000 for a good movie placement. alot depends on how much of the song plays and how often they play it though....and the budget for the film. I lost out on the ironman movie which woulda been serious loot based on the fact that movies budget was like 100+ million.

so in other words yes theres good money in movie/tv placements. alot depends on your contract work though. matter of fact i might be done trying to sell albums. if you sell publishing and licensing you can get paid quickly. just gotta make that right song and find a way to get it in the right persons hands.
