Do you think your the type of beatmaker/producer that can make only lead singles for artists?

or do you think your the producer that good enough to have beats on an album but not really Lead single type producer?

I think we all feel the same way, like me personally I would be happy with just getting a placement(s) on a major album, and make money off music, but me personally I honestly don't think I got enough beats commerical type beats to product lead single after lead single like a neptunes or a cool & dre. I got a few gems that I think could be a single but overall

I'm more of a producer that will fill up the album but I don't think you gonna have a lead single off one of my beats. I'm just being honest with myself, I got more to grow as a producer before I get to that point.

What about you? do you got that lead single material where every beat you put out could be a single? or just album placement type beats?

What you think about yourself? be honest

I think I got some gems that could be lead single material, but I don't think I'm a scott storch type producer, where every track I put out is a potential single.

Thats just my opinion, I feel like I got room to grow.

But big up's to the replies, its good you feel that way.

    I got album filler tracks.

Everyonce in a blue moon I get one that could be on some single type vibe depending who would spit on it.

but I aint even trying to be like that next big "super" producer. Thats to much for me, all I really need is my partnas to be happy with the music and I feel good about it.

I just wanna make slaps and do my shit independent with my friends.

I have fell off hard, and have spent a lot more time DJing than producing in the last two years or so. But even at my peak...I have a few tracks that could be seen as laid back radio singles, but I've never made a true club banger. Truth is, I've barely heard any tracks on RM that were TRUE club tracks, even though I have heard some single material.

I've only had one of my songs played on radio before, and that was a sampled track that isn't even my style...so I just gotta figure out what works.

LOL, damn....so he can't even "speak", simply because he isn't doing it to become a superproducer? I can't really roll with that...I think everyone has their own objectives, and their own levels of success. I'm sure some people will say that they don't want to be a superproducer...but if it happened, I'm 95% sure that they wouldn't complain. There are some people who do it more as a hobby and for fun...so just because they post on here doesn't mean that they all want to be Dress and Timbos. At least dude's being for real with himself, unlike some on here who are like "man this track I did here is better than EVERYTHING on radio" when it sucks.

    no no

it seems to me like he jus wants to be happy
so why even bother to participate in this particular discussion

if some one was like hey lets talk about how we past time, go head speak up
but dont talk about achieving goals if u take this as a hobby.

a bunch of technicians going over how to fix this problem with the plane
and one dude who rode in a helicopter ride at the fair once says hey i think we should.........

That shit is clownin.... but to answer the question I got both, but I realized that Im more likely to make an R&B single than a hip hop single.

^^Having the so-called "West Coast sound"...it does seem like most of our producers are more equipped to make an R&B single than Rap single in 2007, because our sound is too musical for most rap fans nowadays.

Even though I came up in the school of Battlecat, Dre and Dilla, dont think Im not over here working on more than just that, those were just starting points. I remember a dude name JD The Prince used to post here and he was a hell of a Neptunes student at one point.
