me and my friends are gonna set up a home studio, what do we need to get us started? thanks
Start out small, you don't need to go out and buy $3000 worth of hardware when you're just starting.
To start out, I'd buy something like a M-Audio Fast Track, a decent condenser mix (I use the MXL 990) and maybe a midi keyboard of some sorts.
You can set up a pretty useful home studio with just that (about $300 total), and from there you can build and buy more equipment based on your needs.
Edit, i forgot one more thing, you need monitor speakers, that's all preference, I use M-Audio AV 40's, but the AV 20's are pretty good, and half the price, good for just starting out
I made a pretty dope post about this here. Check it.
There are so many things you can do but I have questions for you.
1. PC or MAC
2. What DAW system are you going to use?
3. What type of music will you be doin?
BeatsByYou.. ill answer those questions coz im lookin to do the same..
1 - Mac
2 - Dont know yet
3 - Hip Hop
