Hey mods, I have an idea... why don't we sticky this thread topic and let it ride for a month then create more successively?

Also, you can sticky a "What have you bought?" type thread, too, so heads can share their latest purchases (or downloads) for the month.

They do both of those on this jazz site that I frequent and it's megapopular there. It would probably bring more life to this place.

    Anyway, right now it's...

    you know what...why not?

just typing a song or album name may be an easy way to prompt discussion

    myself...

    Busdriver - Roadkill Overcoat

before that it was his TEmporary Forever album and Buddy Holly's greatest hits.

my daughter is going to be at that age where she can repeat things, so if I want to listen to something with her around I look for albums with little to no cursing. I'm going through my entire CD collection alphabetically

He's brilliant... and the thing is, cats didn't get him at first... but he kept playing his own style.

Classic... aren't they supposed to do a sequel?

    They should.

i keep hearing (on message boards and such...of course) that Automator is working on it now. Not sure about Del, but considering his Def Jux solo is coming out next month I can't imagine a Deltron release is his highest priority.

Listening to "Hello Brooklyn," makes me think that Wayne was the driving force behind the shared cadence in that song... usually Jay goes left field with his flow when rhyming with another rapper like he did with Nas and Eminem... but on this one, he sounds like Wayne almost... his lyrics are still better, tho.

Yeah, I heard he danced a lot during his shows... nowadays, that's sacrilege to the average stuffy jazz fan... you thought hip hop purists were bad? Try a jazz purist... ahhh man. Monk has a famous quote that his fans love to use... "talking about music is like dancing about architecture."

I'm coppin' both of those probably... I still can't get into Both Sides of the Brain, though... I think it's the production.

Great album... it took awhile for me to get used to it because it had a clear west coast sound and focus, but I began to love it... especially the remix to Lick Dem Motherfuckers.

    Another great album from Alicia...

Nothing in hip hop is really impressing me of late.... I still get into The Cool from time to time, still bump some Royce, and a lotta Crooked I (the weeklies)... But that's 'bout it.... I've been listenin' to more R&B 'n alternative of late.... Probably the type of mood I've been in, also.... But chea...
