weight gain...not fat gain.

    I am 110lbs (well fluctuate between 110 and 120) And I am looking for a way to gain weight, without gaining a belly? It seems thats where my weight goes. So i basically waste all my energy toning my stomach... and i dont seem to get anywhere, so i am assuming it is diet related (too much carbs/sugar etc)

    Suggested Diets? (what can I eat that will give my body the nutrients it needs, without adding fat....even health drink suggestions are welcome)

    Bingo diet related.

    I am the same way I have a fast metabolism and most of my weight went to my gut.

    remember there is no such thing as target fat burning.

    doing stomach excercises wont make you lose the fat on your gut it only builds the muscle underneath, you have to do cardio for that...

    well im guessing you wanna be around 125-130 pounds but proportioned?

    it depends on what your goals are.... I could provide you with a bit of info.

    First off if you wanna put on weight your gonna have to bulk up especially if you have a high metabolism...you have to cut out junk foods from your diet! eliminate Sodas and certain juices like kool aid, high c, hawaiin punch etc.

    and replace them with healthy juices and organic drinks.

    I need to know your height, weight as of current and your diet and training schedule as of now! and how active you are before i can give you any advice.

    please be very detailed on what you eat and when you eat and how often you train and such.

    im 5'6 i am lookin to be about 125-130 (correct)

    My belly... it looks normal but i think it could look better...i want to lessen the fat under the skin. Cardio you say? hmmm

    I just got a job at a gym, so i suppose that is good to know lol. I dont work out all that much anymore...I lost my motivation because nothing seems to be working. I wasn't doing cardio though...so i will try.


    and vish, clearly i am not annorexic if i am posting in a fitness forum, seeking advice on how to GAIN weight. thanks :)

    well, you look good to me...
    if u wanna gain weight and not fat, you're gonna have to start a weight training program....


    muscle is your friend....

    muscle = burns calories

    burn calories = lose fat


    muscle = weight gain without fat gain


    I suggest working out 3 days a week... for 45 minutes


    do a full body workout...

    squats, bench press, dumbell curls, dumbell extensions (triceps), and shoulder press


    and use those two girl machines for legs.... where u squeeze legs together and out... and the booty machine...where u extend your leg out....and throw in some ab work...


    for diet...


    you should check out my sticky thread at the top...

    and then do some research for what a female your size and weight needs to eat as far as protein/carbs/fats...


    and most importantly, you gotta be serious and ready to stick with it...



    my ex used to want to gain weight and she'd never take it serious....she'll still call me up and ask me about protein shakes and weight gainers....


    you gotta stick with it.

    Get more sleep.

    Lack of sleep causes stress, which produce a stress hormone called cortisol, which causes you to produce more fat around your mid-section.

    Sleep is very important because your body needs it to restore itself... your muscles need it to grow... the more muscles you have, the more you'll burn fat continuously.

    Diet is important as well, but you don't have to be too stringent about it... just watch your alcohol and simple sugars intake.
