Man. Me and my boyz have the same reaction, although I think that Bonnar won't go out as bad. but go out devatatingly he will. Anderson? Fighting anyone? In Brazil? It's over. Badly. Dominatingly so.

I see Bonnar going in there all gutsy and getting his forehead cut open by a sharp perfectly timed elbow first round. I see a bunch of people who don't know any better to cry about like it ain't a real way to win.

Elbow smash is a fully accepted way to win in Thaland. You see the elbows KO heads in Muay Thai matches?

I would lave hard... If Bonnard wins I mean it ain't for the title what's any of them got to lose there both in for a replacement fight...

Would be cool to see Bonnard knock him or submit him... But anderson is the king dude is hell evasive... Cocky which at times is his downfall. If bonnar can get him rattled he has a chance cause silva when rattled breaksdown but they end up over shooting with takedowns or strikes that they gas ^^he recovers and snaps your pride in half for going in for without thought be a smarter fight is how I see it

yes he's had the infamous "Anderson Elbow" KO of Fryklund, I think it was. But elbows are rarely producing KO's in MMA, even from megamonsters like Anderson.

I don't see it used to much unless it is on the ground, and it doesn't help a lot of places have it banned (though many don't as well.)

Gilbert Melendez vs Kawarjiri (sp) comes to mind as another finish started by a WELL placed standing elbow. I love when fighters take the time to use one (on the ground not so much as it is just there begging to be used, standing it looks so much more skillful), Anderson's was like an uppercut Elbow, fucking brutal. Supposedly he had been telling his trainers he saw it in a movie, and wanted to try it in the fight, and they said no no no dont.

Good point! I think that the general lack of skill of most MMA guys in the standup are the reasons that there hasn't been more concussive use of the elbows. Believe it or not? David THE CROW Louiseau from back in the day was noted for his sicc elbow strikes, even though he kept losing in the big MMA shows whenever it came time for a title or even top 7 contender match.

^ lmao @DogMeat can tell you David is a favorite of mine.
Really unfortunate what happened to him in his career.

Either way fighters like him make an Elbow on the ground look beautiful,
and against Tanner he showed one second can change a fight if his elbow is leading the way.
