    Generally, if you want guests to attend, especially in large numbers (presumably to increase gifts and/or profit), you are wed on a Saturday to make it possible for more people to attend.

    So you can get married on any day there?
    Here its only Saturday.

    Yep, you can get married any day you want, you just better accommodate guests if done on a Saturday.

    Yes, but not a splashy affair, usually Justice of the Peace. (In some cases it's Justice of the Piece).

    Apart from one funeral thus far, I have a tendency to start laughing during it, especially if the people who passed lived long and well. I'll get many "how dare you" stares and get frowned upon, yet all the great memories shared with the person passed come back. Always found it better to commemorate with laughter rather than tears.

    Agreed on weddings. But speeking on the greedy wedders - over here the trend went from gifters giving what they wanted to the newlyweds pre-ordering exactly what they want. Defeats the whole purpose of a gift, but it's what people get for being bled gift dry by blitzkrieg newlyweds who decided it's the only way to decorate that new home they've indebted themselves with bank loans atop a lavish ceremony.
