sometimes i wonder why i still post here
hey whats yo aim folk..
i noticed yall jus throwing foam EVERYWHERE..why?its not necessary..you really only need it in a few spots..anywhere else your pissing away money?
also i forgot who had them? but how them rolands drums sound?
the roland set, the kicks and snares are definitely not for hip hop, except maybe a few.. its more r&b, pop, rock. Hats, toms, bongos etc are good. But you can use your own sounds. It's also a midi controller so it saves a ton of time programming drums..
i have foam at the first reflection and second reflection points for the monitors and in the booth to deaden high freqs reflections.. acoustic panels triangulating the corners, and bass traps in the corners, all strategically placed. plus added a wood floor in the center. trust me if you treat your room correctly, it will sound excellent. i would consider it pissing away money on monitors..if I didn't treat my room, because it sounded like a garage before
and the foam in the other room is to kill a flutter echo..I had some left over foam and an extra acoustic panel so I'm starting to treat the other side. still working on it, they're hanging temporarily. once I pin down the main problem spots I will put the rest up, and maybe put a rug down. That large open space with the tiling makes that side sound a little off. I watch movies down there with surround and I dont want to hear the sound reflecting behind me. i'm getting into a space with wood floors soon
i recommend those acoustic panels www.gikacoustics.com
