Right now I'm using a Shure SM58, but I need something that can put more presence into my voice. Right now I'm looking into a few mics but haven't made up my mind. Behrenger B2 is one choice, Rode NT1000, I've read on this board that people enjoy the Studio Projects Mics, B1 or B3? Any other suggestions?

This will be matched to an Mbox which comes with a focusrite preamp. So any help would be greatly appreciated.

i'd say...the studio projects mics are both good choices. well, all the mics you listed are pretty good, but i'd probably go with one of the studio projects myself.

my cousin has one, its really nice. he had a B2 and didnt really like it, and we did an audio comparo when he got his B3, and the B3 was much cleaner crisper sounding, so he sold the B2. my uncle who used to own a recording studio told me that the B3 is a good value for the price, and i trust him personally. but you gotta decide for yaself really.

Studio Projects B1 is just a Cardoid Mic

Studio Projects B3 thats Omni...Cardoid... and Figure 8 patterns

Cardioid: is bascially for Recording One Person

Omni: For recording Groups/more than one Person. hmm u know when u go to Church that group that does the Singing lol i forget what u call them but for shit like that..Multiple intruments etc

Figure 8: allow u to recording any side of the mic side..back Front..Etc (something like that)

I normally use Omni and Cardioid

it just a way each Records..
