haven't seen any of your favorites yet.

this is probably the fewest new movies i've seen in a year in a long time. missed out on some good ones. i've been catching up on old stuff through netflix and going to the theater less. i usually didn't go unless someone else wanted to go. there is a lot coming up this month that i'm interested in, though.

top 10 (no real order except the first few)

    the dark knight
    wanted
    iron man
    cloverfield
    the incredible hulk
    vantage point
    21
    hancock
    the family that preys
    the secret life of bees

    worst movie seen this year
    an american carol

those 11 are actually every movie i saw that came out this year.

Man, I hate this Oscar race nonsense that forces all the quality films into the last week or 2 of the year or even into next year for most places. I can't seen anything. My top 10 still has Hellboy 2 in it just because nothing is opening around here and I can't find the time to hit L.A. to catch up.

No love for Mamma Mia!, huh? It wasn't much of a movie, but it sure looked like they had fun making it.

Haven't seen enough to give a credible top 10, but I can give a bottom 10 right now, in no particular order:
    The Strangers
    The Incredible Hulk
    The Happening
    Jumper
    10,000 BC
    Step up 2 The Streets
Fly Me to the Moon 3D (3D was great, though)
    Nim's Island
    Leatherheads
    An American Carol

no doubt... i would have leaped at an opportunity to be a part of that cast in a heartbeat

colin farrell and brendan gleeson ripped it on a dramatic tip... glad to see they got the recognition they deserved from the golden globes

i would say the film should have gotten a best screenplay nom in addition to its best picture, but the ending felt a bit unnatural. everything was perfectly scripted up to that point.

Honourable mentions: Get Smart, Gone Baby Gone, Funny Games

    ^ yeah.

I haven't really watched enough this year to put together a list.

I liked The Dark Knight, Iron Man, Appaloosa, Hancock, Choke, and Chaos Theory.

I didn't like The Happening and Mirrors.

it started off with some promise... but, after the first 1/2 or 2/3 it took a plunge once the twist was revealed. i was left disappointed, because it was shaping up to be a potential year's best. i still wouldn't put it among the "worst" category when it's all said and done though.

and, without the 3D effects that were pretty exhilirating at times, journey to the center of the earth is mad weak.

Zohan i actually didn't mind. I went into expecting to hate but didn't hate it, same with what happens in vegas.

Love Guru was awful though, one of the worst movies i ever seen. I turned it off like 20 minutes into the movie..the happening was nearly as bad...
