Delays, Flangers, Reverbs, Choruses, Eq, Compression, or whatever else sounds good. Those are the first ones that come to my head without hearing the track or know what kind of sound you're going for. If it's recorded properly, you might just need the right delay, some panning, a little compression and eq and you'll be set.

exactly...where ur going with the song determines the mix...for example...a slow ballad would have a heavier reverb, more delay effects, lighter compression, etc in order to achieve a more personal feel...but mixing is totally subjective, use whatever effects u need to get the sound you want

how about gettin a logic or protools instead of cool edit..its such a old program, if you have the money of course.
But i dont know, a lil bit of reverb helps, eq panning some of the background vocals a lil, not alot, it all depends on what other isntruments you have in the background.

tell you what, this shit is expensive but if you can get your hands on it, you'll be mixing wit any program like you had protools.
