FL Bass Boost
if you got digital clippin you might as well throw that file away unless you send the clippin signal through analog recordin equipment and add some analog static .. that can fix it .. its gonna compliment the digital static that sounds horrible to our ears...
but to make kicks bang i'd say throw like at least 10 kicks in there.. thats what i do... eq them so they all compliment each other.. dont ever use someone elses default for the compressor cause yo might just end up turnin up the signal with the gain without actually compressin it... you would not wanna do that, wouldnt make much sense.. every kick is diffent so every kick needs to be compressed differently.... best thing to do is learn the compressor like the back of ya head
use good clean kick samples
pay a professional to mix your songs
and really u wont get that hard knocking from fruity loops man, u just wont u can layer and compress all day long
thats from a advid fruity loops user, u wont get that boom bap knocking from it
thats also just my opinion
really though lol
you dont use shitty ingredients to make quality product
if u do that, u gonna have 2 run em all thru a pitch corrector/auto tune, or else itll sound Mad Kanye (a mess)
^ why is that?
thats a straight up lie Gamshooter
lol... definitely has nothing to do w/ FL... I've gotten ish to bang on FL the same as a MPC... doesn't matter once you get it tracked and start mixin...
It's all in your original sample...
if u listen to some of kanyes tracks...he'll just use any ol drums...sometimes they dont even go with the track...
Go download his remix of "If I Aint Got U" (Alicia Keys)...
Nice track, but if he would of pitched his hihats up a lil to the correct key, the whole track would of sounded a lil betta
not true, the drums may look like they are clipping, but thats just cause there mixed with all the other elements of the beat with it, the quailty of drums makes it better, if they bang at a low volume, there going to bang at a louder volume.
If you clip your drums, you are not leaving room for the rest of the instruments in your beat. listen
1. Gather good sounding 24bit drums.
2. Normalize them.
3. Compress to taste
4. cut un heard frequencies (set your 'Q' to 50)
5. boost most dominant frequencies by 2-3 db.
6. Try to have your drum's volume around 6-4db.
7. Kicks, you feel alot more than you hear so a slight touch of Rbass is good.
8. Boost mids just till there is a punch.
9. 3k to 5k usually adds the attack and punch you may want.
10. check the drums in mono and put them in the right stereo feild(i like them in front, right behind the sample or main insturment) a great plug-in for this is sotious: Surround Panning
no its not , listen to any 9th wonder beat (hate to bring this guy up but he general has his album songs professionaly mixed and mastered) listen to his kicks then listen to premo, dr dre, ect and tell me they bang the same
fruity loops just dont process the sound like that
all i use is FL 6 and i think u can get a great sounding finished product out of it but if u want that BANG that old boom bap premo drums just banging
u aint gonna get it from FL
thats just my opinion i used to try to trick myself into believe u can but u cant
just go do it the southern way n use some 808s...look at jeezys trap or die mixtape...a perfect example of how kicks should bang hahaha
thats gotta be the biggest crock of shit i've ever read... WTFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF ARE U TALKING ABOUT... dont use ur own fortunes.. into giving FALSE INFOOO.. WTFFFFFFFFFFF
lmao wtf hi hats in the correct key?
i repeat drums do not have ot be in key... if that was the case, they would have key signatures after every fuckin' percussion staff in sheet music.
level 45 hoe.. chea.
imagine a drummer tryin to play his hi hat in key
alrighty...if you say so....
You get out what you put in. Stop putting in shitty kicks then. Put in some nicer sounding kicks to begin with, and your shit will bump that much nicer.
lmao... " hit a lil to the left and you got it "
