I still miss Omar. But they really nail down the addict characters. I'm sorry but every doper I know reminds of Johnny, Bubbles' old sidekick.

    Great show.

It shows institutional dysfunction at every level--police, drug organizations, city hall, schools...

It's dense, so I get why some people can't get into it. But the whole series is like a great novel. Like Portrait of the Artist or Old Man and the Sea--even if you can't get into it, you should try finishing it anyway. Eventually that shit'll hook you.

Plus, some really great bush and titty shots each season lol

They all tie together to show that the Drug War is futile and perpetually damaging to our society than drugs itself.

Only a fool would simply say that this show is nothing but 'shoot em up, bang bang'

^^^You're right, it's anything but 'shoot em up'...hell, it's one of the very few cop shows where the cops hardly ever use their guns.

Definitely less violence than the Sopranos, no question.

Shit, if you get through all 5 seasons (which go waaaay too quickly), the end will definitely leave you feeling entertained, educated, and, most likely, more than a little pissed off at how the fuck the richest country in the world can dick over it's common people.

For the record, my favorite seasons are two, three, and four. Fuckin devastating man, for the following reasons.

Season Two: Because you can see your pop in the same situation as the dock workers.

Season Three: Because two men almost took the violence out of the drug game and political correctness fucked it up.

Season Four: Because, what the fuck, this is REALLY what urban public schools are like.

Probably the most intelligent show ever. Way past West Wing.
