Does anyone know how to do the stutter/pre-echo type effect on vocals? That shit where it almost sounds like the vocals are rushing toward you in an inverted echo. Linkin Park used that shit on their first album, Cadaver used it on "Light It Up," DZK used it on that "Shadowville Battlefield," etc. Looked on Google, adn the only thing I found was a way to do it in Pro Tools.

Is there a way to get the same effect in Cool Edit or Audition? Any help would be appreciated.

/slightly off topic for this forum but there doesn't seem to be a better place to ask...

    reverse reverb?

I think thats what your talking about, heres how to do it.

    1. reverse section of audio.
    2. add a certain amount of reverb to taste. Process it.
    3.rereverse the reversed part.

I don't know if that'll work for CE I don't use that app.

Much thanks, that set me on the right path. What I did was:

    1. reverse the section
    2. throw an echo down, fast delay on the left, slightly less fast on the right.
    3. reverb
    4. re-reverse
    5. mix paste into the original vocal track

the only thing i'm still having a problem with is lining up the clip with the original vocal so the FX are lined up with the beginning of the main vocal.

any suggestions for how to do that? right now i'm just trying to estimate and mix paste, with varying results.
