I'm trying to see if it's only titan fans that think mcnair still "has it".... i'm pretty sure they/we are...

So is he good still, or bad... or horrible?

    I myself think horrible...

His injuries have finally caught up with him and the talent pool around him is running thin.

Titans bar McNair from team training facility:

Tennessee Titans quarterback Steve McNair was asked to leave the team's training facility when he reported Monday for offseason workouts, his agent and team sources confirmed.

McNair was told by a team trainer that he would not be allowed to work out until his contract situation is resolved, according to James "Bus" Cook, who represents McNair.

"Steve was told that until he got his contract straightened out, he wasn't welcome at the facility," said Cook. "Heck, he's got his contract already straightened out and now he's trying to fulfill it by reporting for the offseason."

Cook said there had been no warning of the team's position. Titans sources said it was a decision was made by owner Bud Adams, who apparently fears that an offseason injury would make him liable for McNair's current contract.

Titans coach Jeff Fisher, who was in Los Angeles observing USC quarterback Matt Leinart in a private workout Monday, declined to elaborate but said, "Things got blown out of proportion. ... We'll get it straightened out."

McNair is scheduled to make $10 million in 2006, including a $1 million team penalty because the Titans declined to exercise a three-year option. His salary cap charge is almost $24 million, and the team is trying to get McNair to restructure his deal. It has been speculated that the team could release the quarterback if there is not a new contract in place in the near future.

"The reason his cap number is $24 million is because they kept asking him to restructure every year to create space," Cook said. "This guy has done everything for the team, and he has two or three really good years left. Now, they treat him like this."

i think he can still play IF he is healthy, but not at the level he used but can still contribute. They better have a solid backup ready to step in when McNair gets injured though

McNair however isn't worth that money he is getting..

lets be realistic - the only chance the titans have of finishing at most 1 game above .500 in the next 10 years is with steve mcnair under center. this franchise will soon replace the cardinals as the team that just can't win.

^sure thing. If we get an FO as bad as the cardinals... coaching as bad as the cardinals (untill very recent), draft as bad as the cardinals, get a GM as bad as the cardinals...

it could happen... just not anytime soon.

and McNair had atleast 3 shots to win games last season and threw interceptions or fumbled the ball on the last drive.

he killed shots at wins... not helped them.

As long as the texans and jaguars are in the AFC south.... it isn't possible.

    :)

But it's cool. People were saying the same retarded things the offseasons before they made playoffs plenty times.

i love the titans, and i love steve mcnair. the best chance to win is with mcnair playing one last year (this year) with the franchise qb drafted ready to lose the clipboard next season.

I read online that the titans really like young..

if they draft young that must mean that cutler and leinhart arent that good.

^that must mean that they're out of their fucking minds.

actually, that's GOT to be a smokescreen.

I wouldnt take young unless i could trade down... I'd be alright with it if they did that. Otherwise... big mistake.

3 more years with mcnair (i doubt he has more than 1 more year left in him) is going to be painful.

The way it looks right now...

They like Cutler most.... Young second... and Lienart third.

but they've commented like they're more impressed with cutler and lienart... It's hard to tell if they're blowing smoke or not.

most boards have us with either cutler or lienart.

i honestly don't think young has a chance at going in the top 5. That's a bad business move.

word at the talent around him.....lol
    he's to injury prone
he would be a good backup emergency type of QB
it would be a smart move if Baltimore signed him....

McNair is still a good player, but i doubt he'll be playing to much longer
