New internet installed today, so I thought it'd be interesting to see people's connection speeds...get the ole e-peen out and compare lengths.

Major difficulty in expressing the frustration from an appalling internet connection, if I never had internet I wouldn't have this problem. But quite frankly I feel like ramming nails into both of my adductor pollicis.

I'm beginning to adopt this sentiment as well.

New laptop in December, but it wouldn't connect.

New router. Connected, but continually dropped signal (same was true for all devices using internet here: PC, two laptops, tablet, 4 phones).

Service provider was called, they came today and changed the line coming in (was 30+ years old, lol :/), as well as upgraded the modem.

Redid speed test, laptop numbers are lower than before :fffffffffffff:

Guess I'll wait for a bit to see what happens.

When my innanet providers switched (with the past going bankrupt and being sold to the current one), they sent me both modem and router via regular mail. They forgot to enclose the "welcome to our new system" letter with passwords needed to have the ish up and running. Took me a full day spent on the cellphone getting patched through diff offices and put on hold every few mins - eventually got the codes/pws needed.

Then the line would massively drop, wifi wouldn't work properly, they needed to make factory resets from within their company otherwise the line would be dead for hours, sometimes even days.

Holidays and weekends are a bonus. It's when innanet slows down even more than usually. :/

Suffice it to say - I feel you.

I called back and upgraded the internet package to double the speed I had. It's an improvement, and if still frustrated I can double it again...but for now I'll see how it goes.

PC is so much better for connection purposes. I love the convenience of the laptop, except when I have time to shave while pages load.....

You really shouldn't. Your moustache grows back a little thicker every time you shave it off.

Huh? No difference in desktop and notebook connections.

    Wired/wireless, that's another story.

PC is wired, hence it being better for that.

    You know what I mean!

Hardwired laptop doesn't let me roam with it, (around the house or out of the house), so what would be the point of having one?

The real question is, why is your connection so bad that wireless is that terrible?
