This is just a little keystyle I just did. It's not quite finished either. I wanted to speak on alot more issues...I just couldnt finish it off..Honest opinions please...

    i'm part of
    a hopeless
    cause...
    tip toe'n behind
    my dreams...
    i accidentally lost...
    when i really
    lost god...
    part of an generation
    that's has been
    brain washed...
"they" wont even let me listen
    to tupac...
    "they" know
    hiphop...
    "they" think only metaphors and
    similes...
    make a great
    emcee...
    "they" ridicule
    me...
    because i'm a cawntry boy
    from tennessee...
    "they" say my people ruined
    the industry...
    with our cotton heads and
    gold teeth...
    "they" wasnt
    listening...
    when little brother was
    speaking free...ly
    "they" said we
    slow...
    and like to call our
    women hoes...
    put them in uncut
    videos...
    spreadin their legs and
    working a pole...
i knew one and she was
    from new york...
and hated the way the niccas up there
    treated her...
"they" said it's just a southern thing
    it's really universal...
"they" hate the way we use
    certain words...
    "they" hate my country
    slur...
"they" hate the way we substituted
    "thurr" for "there"...
    "they think we glorified the
    shit...
    it's just the way we
    speak it...
    nelly didnt invent
    it...
    and it isnt just
    midwest...
it's been around before you were the
    little secret...
    inside of your mother's
    cervix...
i'm sorry but I dont see the point
    in a spinnin
    necklace...
    or creating an imagine
    behind a bullet proof
    vest...
    or disregardin the thump
    under my chest...

    controversy is my reason
    for writing this...
they say a southern man doesnt know
    his music...
    memphis and new orleans
    birth the basics...
    that hiphop soley
    depends on...
    and i can keep going
    on...

    but nobody listens to
    the southern song....

thanks for catchin that typo there ehno...

Yea man Im giving it like my 4th read on it and it is tight. I really didn't know by reading the piece, that you were trying to touch on any different points, it seems pretty focused on one. Anyways Some hip hop head may need to check this piece out, give them a little more insite into the southern type music. There is a lot of substance down there.

wow. i must say that i've been one of those people that, not necessarily looked down on the south, but really didnt understand where they were coming from. This piece helps me understand ish a lot more than what i thought i did. great piece.

    only thing i seen...was

"they" hate the way we substituted
    "there" for "thurr"...

i think the "thurr" should come before the "there"

i know it was a keystyle..

    great read

Haven't been here in a while, but that was tight.....when I first started rapping I was ashamed of where I was from because northern rappers looked down on us as stupid and not equal lyricist. This poem really expressed some feelings I had while trying to develope my style as a southern based M.C. You had a lot a good lines in this poem, but my favorite was.........

nice read didnt neccessarily agree with it though.....some points. um.......ur writing a poem/keystyle about how ur basically tired of the stereotypes but ur making some yaself baby. and if "they" in ur poem happens to mean "us" my ppl from up here up north (Philly baby) well.....if "yall" have a problem with the way "we" see "you" then maybe the first step to correcting a misconception is gettin rid of the evidence. gotta admit majority of southern music/videos is all about glorifying hoes/money/and cars. lil john screaming in the background gold just waving to the camera outta his mouth. big booty girls all in the camera smiling while the song is calling her a d**k s**king h*e ya know? man i cant say it's only in the south, but u gotta admit if u look at it as a whole yall got the bigger slice of the pie. we look at yall and think all yall do is dodge stray cows and ride trackters ya know??? but im sure yall look at us and think all we do is do/sell drugs and get shot at. there's no better or worst we're all just different. as far as music go, the south got some hotness and some no no's. just like the midwest, the west, and us up here in the north. like i said i agree with SOME of ya points. but ne wayz nice read.

  18. I already told you what I thought about this. Its gr8, You got something rugged, and an eye for noticing details people can relate to and pattern them to words so they come of sometimes humerous, sometimes leaving much more to think about, but always something real. I dunno man, You got a similar quality tupac had, cant quite put my finger on what it is, but yea..take care son

Personally, I hate Nelly with a severe passion because of the way he tries to take credit for engineering a word that's been spoken for years by people everwhere (THURR). But it's the same way I hate Loyd Banks for just being straight out whack, lol...Yeah though, I agree with ya on this piece because we all face stereotypes, it's just how you deal with them. Shibaby was sayin that the south shows its stereotypes to hold truth. Indeed she is correct because most from the south do so, but sex sells so they're gonna do what they gotta do to get they shit sold to the public. If it means money, hoes, and clothes, then so be it. The same with the northern rappers though, because they got women in videos like they are a piece of raw meat before a starving dog. But that's what sells. Besides that, it's not like we could just be like, stop makin that bullshit, because nobody would listen for one, lol, and for two that would just make their records and style go even more bizzar.

But yeah, this is a dope piece, nice to see something by you, well something recent...and in the Immortal words of Rakim, "Let's go back before they changed hip hop to rap, remember dat?!"
