Cats can't grasp this concept and I don't get it. No one is saying (maybe some, but mostly not) that GT's format is superior than audio battling format. It's just stating the obvious fact that they're different.

Some can transition and make it seem effortless. But just because someone does an audio battle (with no crowd; WHICH IS THE OBVIOUS MISSING FACTOR) doesn't mean they can do GT format. As well as someone coming from GT thinking they could hold it down automatically in audio. I think a lot of them could, but I know it would be a task for many.

For example, I would not want to hear Dizaster in an audio battle at all, even a snippet. But mos def, show me his new GT battle.

and at the end of the day...(can't believe we're arguing this on a hip hop forum and it's not a universal thought), rhyming in front of crowds= 100000% better than a fucking online tourney. Exposure, promotion, shows afterwords, merch, and the possibility of fucking at the end of the night all HUGE pluses you're not getting from uploading to soundclick.

Dre makes the most sense....he wins.

Btw...i'm pretty sure canibus music career is over if he inked a deal with someone who's a rapmusic veteran.

    fuck, the answer is:
YES YES YES...the fact that this isn't understood as a basic assumption is the whole problem with this board, rap, and music appreciation in general.

yea but some people arent MC's they rappers....MC's are usually shit rappers and the same visa versa init....

One is there to compliment a DJ and hype the crowd up between tracks (MC) and the other is there to spit lyrics (rapper)....both make hiphop music and its easy to tell the difference (party songs vs 'lyrical' songs).....

    Ice T...Kool Moe Dee....Dr.Dre...Eazy E...etc etc etc

There have been nuff diss tracks....shit KRS Bridge is over etc etc

Battling is part of the sound clash culture that came from yard with Herc namean.....its just instead of Jamacians with their accents bubblin over soca and Island music it was americans 'rappin' over RnB and Soul breaks....the MC's would clash to big up their DJ or 'sound system' the most init and they would do it with clever little rhymes...I guess that shit evolved into full on rapping namean

    Yes, he was.
Canibus, Jobs and Wozniak built the apple computer solely so Canibus could record the first diss track and create hiphop as a genre.

Regardless of what your opinion is to begin with SK has already won this by stating his case and then staying quiet once he'd addressed it.
