On this Young Dre one I wanted to do the Bandana in the text but I couldn't find it in time and fuck buying a blue bandana......or any bandana for that manner. Anyone with a nice paisley pattern hit me up!

this I had a better version saved for the portfolio but can't find it. The weird colors on the text is after the DJ's request

I think all of this stuff is starting to look a bit tired now (you and 'I'm Really Good' Deftone Design)... kinda like what happened to Pen & Pixel. It's obvious you're a dab hand with Photoshop, but I think you need to move on with your style and develop a range.

Also, your typography doesn't tend to work in sync with the imagery. One main design rule is 'don't use more than 2 font families' on a project. It's funny, I've seen a load of imitators online replicate this style, which is definitely a compliment to you... but most of them (including a couple more on this site) also seem to pick the same fonts as you... fair enough if that aspect is dictated by the client, but I get the feeling you get free reign when you take a project on, so as before, maybe make the type look more considered.

I know your style (and Deftone Design) has influenced a couple of pieces I have done, but I like to put my own take on things... I think designers should be influenced by EVERYTHING they see... onwards and upwards.

Thanks for the love and advice.

Funny thing is I'm known for telling people "you need to only use two font families on a piece" and I got that from something you said to someone on here before. I tend to stray from that rule at times (sometimes by choice, some by force) so I Understand where you are coming from on that.

I am actually tryin to develop a new style with more work but sometimes when things pile up on you you go with the "tried and true" methods, things that are easier but look nice and get the job done.

Deftone I am not, (though I do thank you for the compliment). I have been inspired by a few things on your site which I have used on my personal music projects as well.

    Thanks again

I definitely understand what you're saying about time constraints... I often find myself under pressure with the volume of work I get, and quite often you do have to let a bit of creativity go out the window so long as the client is happy and you get paid ;)
