im on my snoop dog shit right now
Mac Dre tried to embody the Bay, used its terminology, he used the bay as his platform..he didnt originate Bay slang, lulz, he mimicked what was around him.... ok he made up a few words.......................shittyrunfun.......its when your stomach is bubblin and your booty is drippin......... im lookin real ragoooeyyy... great contribution Dre, thanks for making your fans even more retarded. Also, I personally care about bars, stupid stuff just doesnt entertain me. Its like watching a shitty movie...why watch it when theres 1000's of other choices, dont settle for mediocrity. Mac Dre mainly has good beats, and a good vibe but lacks the lyrical skill/intricacy that I look for in HipHop. Just my opinion, not a deal breaker...
Stating that Pac & Big are overrated, doesnt mean I'm denying the huge impact they had, or the fact the have alot of good songs. But lets look at the truth here
They were both caught up into the pop culture fantasy world of "rap"
fueled east/west coast tension
Pac's phony revolutionary speeches...preaching "Thug Life" as if its some great idea that will benefit the world.
Pac's subordination and manipulation by Suge
The fact Pac went from Tutu's and ballay at 17, to gangsta rap within a few years
Him not sticking up for a girl that is supposedly getting assraped by a group of savage negro beasts"i guess im guilty of not being a better person" was his confession.
I have ALOT more respect for Biggie, but his music is still overrated. He has a great personality/vibe, but i think Pac has better tracks, and i never really liked Pac as a person.
Pac's music> Biggies music
pacs was an average rapper but a great artist.
reminds me of the time on the dvd when Pac is mega drunk etc in the studio, freestyling his bars for a recording, not caring bout the song but more concered about him and his boys getn high, didnt even care bout namin the song...
I agree with Bo entirely
yea no shit
the same people here saying "Who fucking cares"
are the same people going "OOOO DID YOU HEAR THAT?!" at some spaceship Lupe Fiasco line that has no relevance with anyone's life.
fuck outa here
What are you talking about?
Back then becoming a rapper was looked at as a sensitive side of you. Rapping didn't mean you were hard. Big and Pac were real ass motherfuckers who were responsible for influencing the notion that rappers need to be thug or hard to be taken seriously on a general scale. And this is because they are the faces of rap. The "pop culture fantasy world of rap" wasnt a fantasy at the time. And THEY were the ones to bring it into the game. They didnt buy into shit
This shit resonates even today in GT battles. "This cat aint hard, STOP IT......he aint in the streets, hes in COLLEGE" and the crowd goes wooooo. People think you need to be some sort of criminal to rap, or you need a past of some thug life. You can partly thank Big and Pac for that, because when people think of rap, they think of them.
But the reality is, back in their time, rapping meant they were straying away from the gang/hustlin life. So to say that Biggie and Pac bought into the whole "Rap beef" stuff is incredulous. Because THEY were the ones who brought that into the game. The game did not bring them into it.
Refer to the line:
"I never thought it could happen, this rappin stuff
I was too used to packin gats and stuff" - Biggy
The line almost sounds like an oxymoron these days, but that was the mentality back then.
I wouldnt really say Pac was a "real" mothafucka
he was hella contradictory to his statements and fuck he tried to be on some saving the world from harm and shit, and then his antics made you believe otherwise. I like Pac's music, but i think he's hella overrated.
The guy got clapped in the middle of the strip
Not long after beating the shit out of a dude in a high end casino with his entourage
Hes been in jail
If were using the word "real" in this conversation as a measure of ones fearlessness in this world, which Im assuming we are, then how can you say he was not real?
Even if his music career brought upon him all these things, they still happened. He still got clapped. He still did time.
No, I wasn't talking "real" in that sense, I was talking real in the sense that he dissaproved of violence on some songs, and then he would talk about it in the next track. I loved Pac before the Death Row era and Better Dayz was an amazing album. However, anything he did during the Death Row era i dissaprove off.
okay never mind then
On another note , i actually heard that biggie got a new album coming out and the first single has pac on it. I read it in a interview somewhere online
Mac Dre was wack and who the fuck is Bo Rat? Nobody reading them long ass responses get a job
Here fun question - If you think biggie and pac was still alive, who u think would be selling more records and why?
I like biggie but i think pac would because he would have dre produce a lot of shit for him which would be crazy. Biggie got p diddy lol
but i fuk with biggie man, i just think pac got some good resources to make hot music.
word, big didn't have any access to any good producers.
He only worked with no name people like premo, the hitmen, rza, pete rock, easy mo b, havoc, buckwild, clark kent...buNcH of no name cats
I just wanna say I don't think Biggie sucks just because he has Diddy dancing in his videos. I very much forgive him for that.
Yea I heard diddy ran up on you at the last botb event, and punked you
By the way thats my first eyerate laugh
I feel liberated!
