It seems like on the internet, everyone wants some complex ass beat with a million instruments and switchups. But then when you listen to a mainstream type beat, it's usually just a simple, four bar loop (with obvious exceptions like Mannie Fresh). What do you people think?

Personally, either way can be dope, it just depends how it's done. Most of the time when you hear simple, empty type of beats on the radio, they are still better than many of the complex beats u here online. Also, I think makin simple beats that are still dope is a lot harder than people think.

Recently Rap production has become simpler in form.

It was a bit more complex a few years back.
I'm not sure that I'm partial to either style. Simple's usually best though.
    In mostly everything...

Usually the simple beats sound full because of the composition and arrangment (obviously). But when it comes to internet shit you'll hear the instrumental and it sounds way too repetitive but the industry tracks are more repetitive then net tracks. I like either one...whatevers hot.

thats mainly because you dont notice the beat when its commercial it has the vocals on it to fill it out... when u listen off the internet.. there is noone rapping on it half the time...

to me its not really a matter of ³³³³³³³³³³. well see haivng 50 instruments and ³³³³³³³³³³. its complex when there all goin different ways. in that case simple is always better.

usualy it is the net, its funny a net mc wants all this change ups and switch ups and a fuckin all types of shit, and the first time i dealt with someone actualy putting out music and established they wanted me to take out alot of shit and changes and make it mad simple, i think if u need a real complex beat or a beat to carry u, u arent a great rapper, realy realy dope rappers want dope and simple beats, because they tear em up and make the song make the beat, instead of having the beat keep changing and distracting the listener from the rapper
