Rstl died back in 2005 or sooo and im the mod who brought it back...

RBL died at the same time....

sooo i modded both..., that is why you see my name on the rbl classic matches page cuz it was my idea to start documenting every title match...

i got both the rstl and the rbl up to over 100 members through constantly being online and hitting people up...

its possible for it all to happen again... we just gotta create that fire...

woah woah woah, how you gonna call it a sure thing?

good defense beats good offense, and the 9ers are easily the best defense in the league.

Good defense does not beat unstoppable offense though.

And NO's offense looks pretty fuggin' unstoppable right now.

    GO VIKES (next year)!

    but:

    A. the Saints dont play as well on the road. they lost to the Bucs and Rams on the road. This year, the 9ers went 3-0 vs those two teams

    B. the Saints last 4 or 5 games have been in a dome. they havent played out in the elements in a while.

    C. Candlestick is notorious for being a sloppy field, which will slow down their high powered offense.

I'm not saying the 9ers will win. I'm jus not seeing how its a sure thing.

They also beat the Jags, Panthers and Falcons on the road.

All the teams mentioned are shit besides the Falcons.

They play just fine on the road, they just had a couple slip-ups against a few shitty teams.
The Packers game was @ Lambeau, wasn't it?

    Granted they lost, but still.
That's the thing though, it's not really a speed only offense. Graham ain't a speedster, neither are Ivory or Thomas. Sproles and Henderson are really the only true burners, and I don't even know if you could classify them as such.

Their offense revolves around Drew Brees, and footspeed just isn't part of his game (except for that graceful step up in the pocket).

Definitely not a sure thing. But it's easy to see why the Saints are the favorite.

I don't think the Pack winning is a sure thing either. If the G-men can run the ball like they did against the Falcons, and their defense shows up, shit could go down.

All 3 of their losses were on the road. 9ers havent lost at home since week 2.

The packers game was week 1. Week 15 they played in Min, then played two at home, then played the lions at home. They havent played outside in a month. I really wish it was colder/raining though. We haven't had rain in months.

The Saints are a high powered offense. They arent a smashmouth team like us. A sloppy field gives us the advantage.

    Two things to conider.

1st, new orleans hasnt played a d like ours.

2nd, we wrapped up the division week 5 pretty much. You think we've shown our playbook? The saints were the 24th ranked D.

Its gonna be a great game.

Saint's haven't lost a game since week 8, to the Rams.

Which, I think we all can agree, was a fluke.
Yea that was my mistake, just checked their schedule.

Regardless, these guys played outside for the majority of their football lives, I think people make too big a deal about things like this.

Especially when it's supposed to be like 60 degrees and sunny.
They CAN be smashmouth though. They DO have Chris Ivory. The Saints have more options on offense and gameplans they can employ than any other team I've ever seen.
San Fran has never seen an O like the Saints'.

The LEAGUE hasn't seen an offense like the Saints' since The Greatest Show On Turf and the Vikings squad that had Randy, Cris Carter, Robert Smith, etc.

C'mon homie. You know better than this. Everyone knows what the 49er's are going to do. Short passes and Frank Gore.

And the Saints defense is a lot better than people make them out to be (Vilma and Smith are both fucking BEASTS that could provide for suppressing the freight train that is Frank Gore).

    I hope so.
