if they can ensure a commanding performance then i can see that happening
they need to have the leagues best interest in mind also
make sure profits return for the league then i think it could work.

there needs to be certain clauses like maple suggested

I think it depends on how much work they put in besides the battling part. I would think getting paid when you just show up and battle and do good is less deserving then promoting the league and working hard for more views.

We can all agree Arsonal deserves to get paid.

so your saying battler A gets a battle in another league and he should give that money he made back to his league?

It depends on the name and how much. Short answer, yes.

top battlers should only be paid.
all these battles that no one cares for should have to pay to battle/try out.

bottom feeders should pay dues.
top dogs are due pay.

If anyone can get paid for any service they should, the question is should battle rappers be demanding money to battle and the answer is...I dunno id love to say no, but If I knew I could make an easy 2k every time I battled I probably would be asking for it after the first 2-3 instances...So yea now that leagues have enabled the rappers to get paid they should have the option of putting a price on their name, but that doesn't mean they have to.

If theyre bringin in views/ppl which will bring income to the league why not.

Like people will pay to get into an event just to see that one person, which is money they wouldnt get if said battler wasnt rapping.

Like I've always said, if top battlers get paid then there must be contracts and they no longer get to pick who they want to battle.

I got love for Ars and I think hes the biggest hustler in battling.
He gets paid. You have to respect that he commands the amounts he gets.
If people are willing to pay him then great.

That being said, his material is super sub par compared to many other battlers who dont get paid as much or at all.
It almost sounds like hes freestyling sometimes
and hes a "Street rapper" using mom jokes and "your girl sucked my dick" lines that arent deep or have any double meanings..
EX: "your mom...... is a DICK-BLOWER"

do fans really go to event to see you battle though? Are you cranking out that many views?

When events are thrown the people that should get paid are the ones getting the fans in the building. And the ones bringing awareness online . When you are not choking you are KOTD's best look though.

depends really. if it's a huge name that will generate (new) viewers, maybe...flying them in is okay.

better option would be to only pay them if they win. for example...arsonal vs. pat stay, not sure how much ars got paid, but it should be under the condition he wins (prevents him from booking the battle and not putting on his best performance). the problem with that is that judging isn't always perfect.

or pool together all the money the company can afford to part with, and distribute it after the event (battle of the night, punchline of the night, verse of the night, rebuttal, etc.)

this shits time consuming for the battlers, but it's also fucking expensive for the organisers...i have no problem with them fronting a plane ticket, maybe even a throw a bit on top...but if you have 3000$ to give one guy, there should be conditions for him to get it all.

as for pesci specifically, yeah you should get something. arguably the best in the league. but it should be under the condition you remember your verses.

they should make sure that the money they pay for said battler isnt wasted so both gain.

Should top tier battlers get paid? Yes, but it should be based more on drawing power than talent, a guy like Arsonal is going to guarantee big numbers, so while other people may think there are a lot of guys better than him, he should get paid top dollar, same with Conceited and every other battler who brings in views and ticket sales.

Has any league went to a premium channel (HBO, Showtime..ect) and pitched them to do a televised league (like they did years ago)
