I don't like your definition of knowledge.
I'd say knowledge is just humanity's endless endeavor to assimilate new information into broader schemas. Which is what science does. It's map-building. But it's important to stay humble and not mistake the map for the territory.
Science is just a series of guesses about the pre existing world around us.
Sometimes they guess right sometimes they guess wrong. but generally to get it right they must go thru a parade of wrong guesses. so its safe to say one of its guesses are not always something u wanna bet your life on.
Science works incrementally towards the absolute.
Religion satisfies the emotional side of man which demands the absolute without the heavy lifting.
Until it gets to quantum physics
The fact that we've made it this far as mere eat/fuck/kill survival machines is a testament to man's ability to continually exceed the limits of his mental hardware.
