You don't go to SAW III expecting a classic.

You go to be grossed out and shit.

Funny thing is, I never said 4 stars.

Show me where I said the word "STARS"? You can't!

What a bunch of dumb asses.

    I said 4 out of 5?

you assume Stars because ebert uses stars?

You're a bunch of unoriginal HACKS!

who said anything about expecting a classic?

i went to the movie and saw a very poorly made one. simple.

anyway, gross-out slasher flicks have the potential of becoming classics if they're done right

Horrible movie. Easily the worst and least though out of the series.

Some of the scenes were the sickest I've seen in Saw. The chick cops' trap was brutal. I could barely even look. The guy with the chains was simple, and very effective. Those were the 2 sickest things I've seen on Saw. And I was also having a hard time seeing dude smash his leg. I was about to walk out as soon as it started. And to top it off, I have a stomach for those things (usually).

But I did like that touch. why? Cause everybody I talked to said that they would cut their heel off, as to why nobody got out of that trap. Breaking the leg seems a hell of a lot more sensible. But I'm just glad they gave closure to that trap though.

Other than that, the movies was wack. Not to mention, I just get the feeling the gore was over the top to compensate for a severe lack of substance. Everybodies like "oooh, the reverser". Wack. One of the weakest traps in Saw.

And why was the fat dude such a bumbling idiot? "I let one person die, and feel all bad like I've learned my lesson" "yet I almost let another guy die, and do let another one die minutes later"???

This movie was a huge cock sucking disappointment. Shit's quickly turning into Jason in Space.

What's a classic gross-out slasher flick to you?

    Texas Chainsaw Massacre?

    oh, i don't know

i haven't seen the texas chainsaw massacre, and i don't know of any others i'd consider classics

i was just making the general statement that, despite its genre or sub-genre, there is still potential for a classic or at least a good-very good movie to be made in addition to it grossing you out

    saw iii didn't accomplish either

You should see Texas Chainsaw... it's the blueprint for all slasher movies.

I almost forgot... make sure you get the original 1974 version directed by Tobe Hopper, not the horrible 2004 Michael Bay remake... for context, think Vietnam war era horror politics.
