    1. Intro

Well, if you look past the no shows from last week it was a pretty good and competitive week. But five no shows are definitely not what we’re looking for in this league. Please try to get your verses in on time, or ask for an extension if you need it. Anyways, there’s not much else to be said for now. Let’s get to the recap

    2. Recap

Shadow gets another shot at obtaining the championship belt this week as Wordz no-showed as the champ last week. Nu’maaN edged out nO gOoD! in the Contendership match and will face Shadow for the Championship. I won due to a no-show from Atreyu. Lucifa won by a no-show from dee black and we will face off in the Contendership Match. MC Guttso edged out Fac3 in a close battle last week. Link Gash won due to a no show from Blitz. Nom defeated Yung Troy. Liquid won due to a no show from coup. And to finish off the week Soull defeated KDP.

    3. Battle of the Week

This week I'm going with MC Guttso vs. -Fac3-

    Guttso

    Joys of Stereotypes

"What deep wounds ever closed without a scar?" George Gordon, Lord Byron

“Hey, boy! What are you doing here?”

“I’m just waiting for a train,”

“I didn’t hear you. What did you say boy?”

“I beg your pardon, sir, but I’m waiting for a train.”

“And you’d better catch that train, boy – and soon, because in this town, the sun has never set on a live nigga.”

The joys of stereotypes the flaws of stars and stripes,
The cause of scars and fights, this is far from right,
Never thinking twice, in a box we fit nice and tight
These type of crimes remind us of the plight of life,
Tonight’s not the time for knives and eyes of spite

Rising high as a lawyer he was gripping and young,
Back then “nigga” wasn’t used as a slip of the tongue,
Blacks disfigured by lynching or a tip of a gun,
Oh it was such sickening fun –
Marshall begun finding work that diffused all his pride
Sent to the South to defend a fellow accused of a crime,
All the bruises of time in the end it’s abuse and divides,
When he arrived he became dismayed to learn the defendant was dead
Betrayed and burnt with a big blade straight in his head –
arms an’ legs splattered on the bloody pavement of dread,
Threats and flag waving by angry white mobs,
Justice lacked rules because of belittling cops..
All the venomous knocks, when will this prejudice stop?

The joys of stereotypes the flaws of stars and stripes,
The cause of scars and fights, this is far from right,
Never thinking twice, in a box we fit nice and tight
These type of crimes remind us of the plight of life,
Tonight’s not the time for knives and eyes of spite

A heavy heart he was shocked as he went on his way
Escaping to the station to wait for his train
Back to New York to sedate all the blame in this land
Hungry, wet from the rain he saw a grey food stand,
He debated whether to go to the front and order from the van
It didn’t go to plan and he soon had a guys blood on his hands,
He was approached by a big ballooned white heavy-set man

The joys of stereotypes the flaws of stars and stripes,
The cause of scars and fights, this is far from right,
Never thinking twice, in a box we fit nice and tight
These type of crimes remind us of the plight of life,

    Decisions In Life

"Meet Drew, A student at an inner city high school
An average kid with a gift, that plenty might view
as a beacon of light for the possibilities in sight
as the one who might escape with more than his life
Drew is a dude who never bothered with nonsense
Street politics, or any drama that was constant
his dream was prominent, and he fought to follow it
In hopes to achieve it and be offered a scholarship
A star athlete, that you could catch in the kitchen
Hoping to snack on anything that the rats didn't
sick of what he had to witness, from his dad missin'
To close friend's falling victim to crack addiction
he had a vision of escaping by chasing his dreams.
the pain he see's inspires desires of breaking free
Binding chains tightly strain whats inside of him
He wants to succeed to leave a failing environment

Now Meet Eric, son of two highly successful parents
Wears 14 carrots, a life nothin' less than cherished
how he should spend his money is the only stress near
From Guess to any brand name, he rocks the best gear
Living a life that Drew only sleeps and dreams about
While Drew's life is One that He never thinks about
Greed exceeds the point where you sense it in the air
wreaks of himself, wealth spelled out in his stare
He's care free, of course football is the exception
He darts downfeild for those highlight reel catches
talks of a full ride to any college of his choosing
have been fuming, even though he hates any schooling
and many moons ago learned to expect to be handed
anything he demanded, and to take it all forgranted
so he doesn't see the oppurtunity a coach might offer
like, 'life is a hand out, why bother to try harder'

    Both recieved Scholarships...And...

Went down similiar roads, attended the same university
One a concrete rose, the other rich but poor morally
Drew was a quaterback, who easily could score on teams
eric a reciever, so of course they met accordingly
Dormed together purposely to develope further than we
would have imagined, their friendship extraordinary
carried the team with no signs of tired spinal cords
Payton to Marvin connection, barely had to try to score
and for two years the two as a team seemed to blossom
Everything believed awesome', and free of any problems
changed drastically one evening during their practice
Drew passed past the D to Eric for one of those catches
and just as his grips had it, he screamed out collapsin'
and crashin' down to the ground, as the pain was great
A pain so great it had a lasting impact on his fate
His face in a grimace, trainers take him to his limits
it's as Drew predicted, he sits to witness his decision
Performance enhancement pills...glad he dismissed them
he had heard they were dangerous, no way he'd risk it..
told them to forget it, but eric was one of the few dudes
Who took them by the handful like he had nothin' to lose...
Nothin' to lose except the scholarship that paid his way
And basically, in class he was ass, he never made the grade...

An oppurtunity sprouts in a place where torment lives
So he take's the oppurtunity as one to flourish in..
Another one dances in a place made of silver spooons
The tune grooves, but there is a distaste for the mood..

and so you see son, the decisions you make in life play out..
So now you understand Why Uncle Eric sleeps on our couch"..

"A wise man can see more from the bottom of a well than a fool can from a mountain top."

This week I'm deciding to award this to Shadow

"It's very strange when the life you never had flashes before your eyes." Terri Minsky

Knees kiss concrete, barrel pressed against my temple
“Please miss” I wouldn't speak, lack of life seems simple
Death rapes the air, breath tastes of despair
Silent snares left erased by the killer’s stare
His eyes irate, grip lacks a shake, heart begging to decimate
So much hate, life’s mistake no longer wants to consummate
Steel about to penetrate, skull begs scalp to be thicker
Concentrate, while my voice screams “Pull the trigger!”

Life pointless, Satan now my 10 o’clock appointment
Fingers decay to poison, I throw away the ointment
Misery n depressed, eerie n upset, motivation has left
Neck in fear of the teth now he’s tired of my breath
Ears now deaf from multiple shots that clear my chest
Bullets devour my skeleton, fresh seizes like gelatin
His figure begins to dim, vision red, eyes in hell again
Lips sweltering, tears melting, mind finds Shelton

“Daddy?!?!” a kid yelled as he smiled in my direction
Looking into the mirror, I saw a child in my reflection
Here,” He said handing the boy an ice cream cone
Chills handicaps my bone, what's this image being shown?
Confusion fills my dome as more memories deafen the tone
The vision fades, another inherits it complexion
Staring into the eyes of a girl who enjoyed his first erection
She whispers to him, “Your arms were my protection.
Hands eased the tension, breast open to caressed them

“Who are these people?” the vision fades away
Wedding bells ring and a child stays to play
Beauty dressed in white, handsome figure in black
Crowd impressed by the sight, they cheer and laugh
Something was familiar but this vision evade my recognition
Parents in tears as their nose wrecks the tissue
“What’s the issue, why am I seeing someone else’s life?"
They turned to me, “This was the day you married your wife.
“Impossible!” I screamed, “My past was terrible, full of strife!”
You evicted the good, this bliss? Was only a sample.
Consciousness regained, time was no longer ample

Killer’s boots equipped to trample, I cry for mercy
“Please don’t hurt me. I have a family that is worried
Happiness once escaped, I don’t want to elevate
My fate is at stake, pain I don’t care to alleviate
For Petes sake! My kids can’t even eat straight”
His mind set to take, heart crawls emotionless
My blood now potion less, body falls motionless
Darkness begins to unfold, flesh can’t grow old
Death erases the cold as my breath chases my soul

    6. Predictions

Shadow vs Nu- I think we all have learned not to underestimate Shadow. He most definitely has his hands full with Nu this week though. I have to side with Nu but expect a strong showing from Shadow

Ace vs Lucifa- Good luck homie

Guttso vs Gash- Another good battle lined up this week. I’m thinking Guttso will come out on top, but I expect both verses to be of very high quality

Nom vs Soull- Damn. Yet another battle that will be dope. I’m choosing nom but I expect it to be close

nO gOoD! vs Fac3- Can you ask for much more from the top 10 this week? I can’t even make a prediction on this one. Both are very evenly matched and I expect it to be a very close battle.

K3 vs Yung Troy- Welcome back K3. I’m thinking with Yung Troy’s recent run of good verses will finally get him a win this week, but it still should be a close battle, as I’m predicting every other battle will be.

Pain vs KDP- I’m interested to see what KDP can do when he isn’t writing a no-show verse. He’s up against some very stiff competition though in Pain. I’m siding with the former RSTL Champ, Pain

Eternalpath vs Bonnie- Never heard of Eternal before so I’m siding with Bonnie. Looking forward to the battle though

    7. Interview

This week’s interviewee is nO gOoD!

Alright. Give us the story behind nO gOoD!

There is some truth behind it, back and 2001 I sucked big time. But I was writing constantly and there were some older guys on the site mill city poet, rottweiler and wiseguy, along with the a bunch that were always in the vet open mic. You know when there was two boards for just texts, those days were the shit back then. There was Ivan the terrible and all them INC cats, they made me seriously think of stepping up my game.

What's something that's made you who you are today?

Living out on my own, for real. Back in them days I had a fuckin couch, and a computer desk. Along with a bag of weed and a mic.

What does the future have in store for you?

Who knows, I'm a soldier at war right now. So I just take it day by day.

    Music

Who are some of your influences?

Man the list is gonna go on, KRS-one, Ant banks, thug life, Classified, sean price, DMX (the hell is hot album was raw),Outkast. Houdini, Run DMC

What's the first rap/hip hop song you remember hearing? Did it hook you into the genre?

I think one of the first songs are remember hearing, was tricky by Run DMC. Fuckin right I was so hooked. The shit was crack to me.

Outside of Lil Wayne, who do you think are some of the more overrated rappers?

95% of mainstream artists. These days at least (Chingy?)

Who are some of the more underrated rappers?

Classified, Socrates, sweatshop union, fuck yeah.

Give us an underground rapper you listen to who you think we should listen to as well

I have to say F.a.T. From this site, dudes got some skills.

Without any explanation, name the greatest album of all time in your opinion.

    Thug life volume one

If you're not listening to rap or hip hop, what are you listening to?

I listen to tons of different music, pink Floyd, super tramp appreciate all talent in music.

Any albums that you're looking forward to that are coming out this year?

Relapse 2, I just want to see him redeem himself. His first album infinite was crazy

If there's one song you told me that I had to listen to, what song would it be?

    Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik - Players Ball.

    League

What's your take on the league so far?

The league is great, a lot of great talent, creative writers. Excellent job by all the Mods. I think the league is headed the right direction.

Are you happy with the way things are being ran? What are some things that could be done a little differently?

I'm happy with the way things are going, I just think the Mods might need a little help, I'm down holla.

What's your favorite kind of topic to write to? (Titles, quotes, pics, or scenarios?)

    Hands down, scenarios.

Who are the top writers in the league, in your opinion?

wordzperfect, NumaaN, guttso are the top three in my opinion.

Who's an underdog you think the league should look out for?

Fac3 for sure, his style has done a 180 in the last few weeks. I'm worried this week, lol.

Let's fast forward to the end of the season. Who do you think will be on top of the league with the top seed in the tournament?

    That's a surprise.

    Finale

Alright. As always, show us this week’s Babe of the Week

    Scarlett Johansson

And, as always, give me a quote to end the interview on

“Nothing's beautiful from every point of view.”

Good luck the rest of the way through nO gOoD!

    Thanks!
