    1. Introduction

Alright. Last week I would say was pretty successful outside of our no-shows. Same goes with Freedom Week the week before. I think the league is pretty strong right now. Here’s some general info for everyone about our season and it’s length and everything:

We will go about 50 weeks for our season and we will finish up with a tournament at the end of the year, which will be seeded with our Standings System. Now, I have had this up for a while but have unfortunately been tight with time, so I haven’t been able to get them up yet. So I need all active members to do something for me to make things easier and I will get them up this week:

PM me how many points you have accumulated throughout the season. Here’s the info needed for you to calculate how many points you have:

A win is worth 10 points
A loss is worth -10 points
A win due to a no-show is only worth 5 points
A loss due to a no-show is worth -15 points
If you shut out your opponent in the votes it's worth 5 points on top of your win, so a shut out win is worth 15 points total
You won't be deducted points if you get shut out
Every appearance in the Championship Match is worth 5 points
If your match ends in a tie it is worth 5 points
No-show shine winner = +5 points (Found in the Mag)
Voting on every battle will give you 5 points
If you don’t vote on any of the battles it’s -5 points

So PM me what you’ve got so far. Then I will post up a new thread which will be the Official Rankings Thread. After that I’ll keep up with everything every week. With that all said, I think we’re ready to get on with the rest of this mag.

    2. Recap

In our Championship Match we saw that Wordz with be a force to be reckoned with as a Champ, as he defeated MC Guttso. In probably the most surprising upset of the season, Shadow defeated L. Kross. In another tight battle with top writers we saw Nu defeat Fac3 in a closer battle than the votes show. nO gOoD! showed up this week and shut out Blitz. Atreyu and nom both got no-showed against, then got alternated to each other for a brand new battle, and they tied. I was able to defeat Yung Troy, who showed up with another improving and strong verse, as he has been doing week in and week out. dee-black defeated liquid in his RSTL debut. Lucifa defeated coup in another good battle. Smoke Trail, L Dogg, Sand, and paragon all double no-showed their battles, and Soull and Phonetix no-showed vs Atreyu and nom.

    3. Battle of the Week

    MC Guttso

You're in the attic one day, and find a mysterious book. You open it up and are horrified with what you see. What is it?

Spring is here what a panic,
with things to clean in this dust ridden attic.
Just very ecstatic that I’ve been given the task to clear the master’s palace.
Seen as a bastard that’s callous, but I bask in his cheer it’s so charismatic.
I erratically dance on these contrasting ballasts.
With a passion for cleaning under this moody moon,
think I’ve betrayed his trust in this wooden booth.
Feels like I’m doing things that I shouldn’t do,
I decide to play and take a look in this hidden room,
found a frayed book named “Forbidden Truths”.
Heart booms as I turn from a servant to sleuth,
it’s a doomed manifesto by a serpent of crude.
Included a long list of masterful murders
wrong and twisted he does it on purpose,
strong thoughts on how life is just worthless:

"Human beings are arranged to breed and deceive,
thrown into these deranged streets and its disease,
this feat so to speak is wildly evil,
toxic campaigns for brainwashing mindless people.
Timeless prequels of unrelenting emotional destruction.
    The cycle of genocidal torture.
    The promotional seductions,
preached by spiteful scorchers with devotional constructions.
Enough to make man turn perverse and demented,
immersed in society and in our curse we accept it,
natural improprieties lead to worsened genetics,
    I emphasise sobriety,
It’s time for me to burn the pathetic."

I’m amazed, terrified at the sight of these lines,
real phased as I clarify the plight of this mind,
he’s crazed, and I verify the spite of this guy,
such a tyrant I mistakenly thought he was nice.
I aspire to life, love, all the things that are right,
a blessing that we can smile, sing with our eyes,
with wedding bells and girls who twinkle in white,
taking time to build bonds we believe in our dreams,
trusting people, we belong; we embrace what we see.

My thoughts seem blurred; I hear the creep sneak up the stairs,
my screams quickly occurred, down deep in despair,
I hear him speak, breathing almost teaching his prayers,
I’m motionless as he leaps towards me with the coldest of stares,
He lacerates me to pieces, leaves me in the oldest of chairs,
He prepares the fleshy meat, wipes his machete clean and it gleams,
He devours my intestines and spleen, dives in and crunches my eyes,
The flies buzz around him and they take a munch on the prize,
Blood splattered banisters, the dim light glows red
The cannibal ravishes the grim corpse’s head
He spits guts as he says:

“I’ve swallowed his leg but I haven’t swallowed my pride
My servant “loved” life, so he had no sorrow to die”

Back in the medevil times of knights, dragons, goblins, and Evil Warlocks,
play the evilest character imaginable and describe your quest to rule the land with an evil purpose.

    The Legend of Osyrus
    [IMG]

He was evil personified, the spawn of grime
Demonic mind, his spirit born at the dawn of time
His body wasn't, born with a slit pupil and no iris
A dark day for mankind, and his name, Osyrus
As a kid, wut he did to his baby brother left his mother disgraced
when he covered his head with a pillow and smothered his face
They said This couldnt be done by the hand of a child
and as they beheaded his mother, he actually smiled

As the years passed, he gained power thru lies n deceit
The rise of a beast that was disguised as a sheep
His people were famined and he owned the land n cattle
If they wanted to eat, they had to join his hand in battle
He hailed dread, robbed the poor n left the frail dead
He lived on hill, atop the valley of impaled heads
Never worked for anything, his throne, robbed it
he sits atop it drinkin blood from a stone goblet

Either worship my name or take a plunge into flames
and dine with the goblins in my dungeon of pain
He spent most of his days goin from village to village
Terrorizen the town folk , he would kill em n pillage
on his climb to power, he'd do anything to reach the summit
He burned kids, stabbed pregnant women thru the stomach
His army can cover the earth in hours as this curse devours
the dirt n flowers but nothin can quench his thirst for power

A disturbed man, his evil deeper then the liquid sea
his motives are a mystery, the enigma of iniquity
But he had one obvious goal, it was World domination
and to conquer any man who didnt share his common hatred
He was obsessed with his conquest, he plotted death
His path reaked from the strong stench of rotted flesh
Even by a savages standards his tactics were radical
The sorcerer mastered trolls into pushin giant catapults

He atacked wit a massive mace-n laughed as he smashed a face in
It was like masterbation laced wit open gashes and lacerations

He loved it, the peoples dread n pain only fed his flames
He’d meditate over top of their graves and levitate
Everything thats in his wake jus crumbles n dies
and in just 10 months his empire doubled in size
The whole world was at the mercy of this surpant's mind
They couldnt stop him with every army on earth combined

But even the best plans can blow up in an instant
ironic, his own people finally rose up against him
They stormed his fortress on hoards of roarin horses
wit swords n torches, they're force enormous
They dragged him out into the snow, it was december then
Tied him up to four horses and then they dismembered him
The spirit left his body and once again begins runnin his search
As a pregnant mother in the croud rubs her stomach n smirks

And the legend continues as he invades her placenta
He does it for centuries on any weak mind he can enter
youve seen him, Ghengis kaun, neopleon, hitler and sadom
and the spirit lives on only to hold the world in his palm

    4. No-Show Shine

This week we will split the no-show shine between Atreyu and nom, since they tied in their alternate match

    nom

I want to be Yeats, Nobel Prize clutched tight
Ink fingers dance pages on drink lost nights
Tough side masquerade while the mask slips
And I still can’t speak through my shark lips
When I dance on the ledge I hope my feet grip
But if I fall we all know that this scene skips
While I tap over the rope that won’t fit my neck
Eyes worn in bars, they’re laughing, sick of death
This stick insect can’t even rub its legs now
I’m still a child; my summer skin has been bled out
I dead sound, watch the river with my skin
Too many toxins crowd my liver in this din
And I pivot and I spin and I’m fickle and I’m sin
And I’m trickling spit down the centre of my chin
In this bottle of gin are the words that claim love
I still watch John through this stained buzz
This is a dream song and my prayers lost
I’d make a mint with what this affair cost
A spare thought that trickles when you die
Find a nickel for the killer's twenty-six-mile ride!
But I never killed but once, keep my head
On the mantel with the shotgun, dream in red
I spilled my life to Henry, he kept my word
Right until the day that I slept in dirt
Depression for a thirsty soul, Mr. Bones
Another diseased mind rotted, slick as snow
Tipped my toes in the dirty water, sank fast
Another blank star, tanked up, stamp marks
The cramp starves movement with white lies
Everything thing that I see is pint sized
This life drives crayon colour holes in me
Fist broken, this token soul is seed
See me as the apple, fully formed with snake
2 second drop before the shore will break
My fall, my thoughts, my beliefs are stained
Tobacco brown on shattered ground, teeth the same
This thief is saved, still got a cross to fill
Sunday mourned Monday risen, lost the film
This posture kill trained, keep my mouth noosed
With whiskey and bread, what a foul brew
Visited my own death more than once now
They visited my death to see a slumped drowned
Figurine with the grin of a god
Who followed through his path, rigid and lost
But I didn’t regret a second in that frigid air
Like my father didn’t regret that pistol stare
A fickle shared life line, tumbling through
The rocks, another too humble for truth
Shuffling bruised, nickels in my eyes for the ferryman
    Signed;
    John Berryman.

If you could morph into anyone (alive, dead, fictional, etc.), who would it be and why?

    -Atreyu-

He has my-face, grace, talents and taste
    balanced views and approach, chaste
    bronzed brain, patient ways
sustained patterns,he meditates in his lessons
    inhales a problem,exhales a solution in seconds
Decides in under 7 breathes *gasp*, his concentration is fire
inside the hide of a dog, outside the hide of a tiger
The spirit he writes with is like the blood of a thousand sages
What he scribbles in between lines could leap off of pages
    Amazing,
the eyes on his head are clear in appearance
    HIs skin is vivid,
a sparkling spirit seen from a distance
    amongst the ominous cloud swirls
    tornadoes and tarnished girls,
    his past thoughts,curled
and tossed away in times barrel
permanent, The man with valor, honor and merciless
to the imperviousness of what used to constitute his
feigned life of bliss, when he was innocent to ignorance
23 yr old kid, blaming religions restrictions
Laughable, gullible troubles the glutton inside of him
stumbling, summon the strength inside of him, that side of him
his reality which cant exist without imagination
the laws of attraction are real, hes living proof-a sanction
a temple of refuge- hes chosen to topple his follies
his smile is warm and calming, his style is foreign & charming
Hes manifested what the rest have put to test but never seen
The focal point of our being, the human void of thinking
avoidance is easy, those thoughts'll never be inside again
mental vitamins, supply oxygen to kickstart the whim
And windmill spin against the thoughts of his past
The poisonous gas that made him tread a torturous path
hes living proof-his intentions turn sand into glass
Now he thinks fast-his rational reasoning teeming to shine
hes seemingly shy with a quiet confidence sublime
When he rhymes, galactic parameters align
The smile of a happy Pharoah,Black God
    Never narrow,always thorough abroad
He has become what society didnt make him
He molds it all like playdough-he makes him
ANd he breathes life and attracts wealth
and he sheds the skin of whats been dealt
Cuz he realizes the only thing that matters
Is the present and the next bar on that ladder
The next tier,he doesnt think about tears
the future's uncertain-he doesnt fight fear
the past doesnt matter he shattered its notion
    Unconceptualized thinking is his devotion
His eyes speak the truth of destiny the best of him
Impressively, his aura is fluidity and sketched in wind
A cool summer breeze, when he speaks, the trees rustle
the bushes tussle amongst each other , anger tumbles
Ill never faulter under rules again so why choose?
WHo Id morph into? When I could BE,instead of Do

    6. Predictions

This week’s predictions are brought to you by –Fac3-

    CHAMPIONSHIP
    C. WordZPerfect 7-1
    2. ShadowWarriorfs 4-5

Shadow has been improving and I think we all know that, but Wordz is just a force in the league right now and doesn't show any signs of slowing down..Wordz wins this..

    CONTENDERSHIP
    3. Nu'maaN 7-2
    4. nO gOoD! 2-0

Both are very talented in their own respects. Nu'maan has proved he has what it takes for a championship belt and really deserves to be in the contendership match. No good, although new, is one of the top writer's in the league imo. I am not sure who to pick at this point and I predict BOTW here...

    5. -Atreyu- 3-0
    6. Ace the Prophet 7-6

Atreyu dropped a solid piece this week and showed his writing abilities were on point. Ace is a good story teller and delivers every match I have seen him in, in a close match up here I have Ace taking the win by a hair..

    7. dee-black 1-1
    8. Lucifa 1-1

Lucifa is coming off a win and has dropped two solid pieces since he entered the league. Dee I haven't seen a whole lot from, but if I remember right he was nothing short of good. Should be a good match up, but I see Lucifa edging this one out..

    9. MC Guttso 10-3
    10. -Fac3- 3-2

    I wish you luck, Guttso

    11. Link Gash 3-2
    12. Blitz_kreig 2-1

Very Solid matchup here. Both writers have the capability to come in and win this one. Just depends who shows up with the effort to back it...This is a toss up to me..

    13. nom. berryman 1-0
    14. Young Troy 2-3

Troy has been solid the last two weeks and only shows signs of getting better, however Nom is an exceptional writer and I see him winning this match in the end..

    15. liquid`acid 2-7
    16. coup d'`etat 0-2

Liquid has been improving a great deal over the past few weeks. Coup is somewhat of a newcomer, but shows great potential as a future force in this league...At this point my gut says Coup so I will roll with that...

    17. Soull 0-0
    18. _KDP_ 0-0

If KDP shows, this could be an interesting matchup. My pick is Soull as I have only seen one verse from KDP....

    7. Interview

Along with providing the predictions, -Fac3- is also this week’s interviewee, haha.

Alright. What's the story behind Fac3?

lol, Kind of corny, but my girl calls me Face babe and she did when i was registering, like "what ya doin' Face Babe?" ....Plus I just thought -Fac3- looked pretty cool....

What's something that's influenced you in your life?

The death of a real close friend....Made me open my eyes up a little bit wider...

What's life got in store for you in the future?

Hopefully something to look forward to...

    Music

What was the first hip hop song you remember listening to? Did it hook you into the genre?

Damn, I would say the first song I remember hearing was Thug Life - Bury Me A G....It definately opened my mind up to it...I'd say after hearing Bone - Creepin on ah COme up is when i was hooked..

What was one of the first songs you listened to that you still bump often today?

Method Man - M-E-T-H-O-D Maaan, "I Got, fat bags of skuuunk, I got, White Owl blunts, and, im about to go get lifted, yes, im about to go get lifted"...Shit's raw to me..

    Who are your influences?

Comin' up it was Pac, BIG, Wu Tang, Luniz, Bone, Dogg Pound...as far as influences go i'd say anybody that writes from the heart and can be lyrical at the same time...

If you had to name the greatest album of all time, what album would that be?

Shiiit, I would have to go with Big Pun's Capital Punishment...you hear what this dude was sayin'? GOAT IMO...alot of great albums that were just as good though, tough question..damn you for making me pick one...

Who's someone new in the game that you think could make a difference on the way rap is viewed?

Viewed? by who? Very vague question....

If you can't listen to rap or hip hop, what would you be listening to?

Peace and quiet...Maybe a couple raggae joints....

Who's the most overrated rapper(s) in the game today?

On the radio, soulja Boy needs to be shot...over and over again...but uhhh I would say people make a big deal over Lil' Wayne and I just do not see it..I mean he has his moments..and he's made some good tracks, but some of what he says is just garbage and people act like it's the most clever shit ever...I don't get it..

It's an age old question, but Tupac or Biggie?

Pac when he's writing from the heart on some real issues, but Biggie is better lyrically....overall as an Emcee I would say Biggie..

What album are you looking forward to most that's coming out this year?

    Slaughterhouse's album....Auguest somethin' or other....

    League

What's your take on the league so far?

My take? Umm, I think the league gives writer's a chance to get critiqued seriously and the chance to improve their writing abilities...as far as the league's condition...I think it suffers in some spots and excels in others...

Who are the top writers in the league, in your opinion?

Haha, Wordz is killin' it, No Good, Nu'maaan, Guttso....Kross before he signed out on some.....nevermind...

Who's someone you think the league should look out for?

He's already in the contendership match this week, but No Good is somebody that everyone needs to take serious when they match up against him...

Overall, how do you feel about the selection of topics you have as a writer in this league?

I feel the topics, especially this week, challenge writers. I like the topics and really anticipate them every Monday or whatever.....

Which kind of topic is your favorite to write on? (As in titles, topics, pictures, or quotes)

Topics...quotes...Titles....Pics are ok, but I would rather just have a picture to accompany my verse for flavor, not as an actual topic...

Who do you expect to have the championship belt at the end of the season?

That shit is so far off dude, It could be anybody's....Hopefully Mine though.....

    Finale

Yup, it's this time again. Babe of the Week. Show us the sexiest celebrity alive

Halle Berry Gotta' be the sexiest....Even at her age, fine wine son...

And as always, give us a quote to finish on

If you don't like something, change it...if you can't change it, change the way you think about it....

Good luck the rest of the way through, Fac3!
