I did almost 5 miles track is 1.2 miles around
I rode 100 miles this past week on the mountain bike.
Did chest tri's yesterday
Back and Bi's tonight
Legs tomorrow morning
I'm in beast mode right now, though.
I've been doing a chest / bi's split lately man. I dunno if that's the best idea on the planet or not.
The chest / tri's thing always makes me think one or the other wouldn't be getting the full potential. But then again I'm sure they'd both get hit to exhaustion. I've just personally never tried that split.
Every 6 weeks I change the split
I'll start doing bi and shoulders
Chest and legs
Back and tri
But doing tri's with chest doesn't throw ya bench off and / or throw ya tricep workouts off? Like one doesn't affect the other in that workout or do you notice decent gains while you're doing that split? I'm thinking about trying it next time we switch up the routine tbh which is why I'm asking. @Resilient.
Many different opinions on this topic
one says working shoulders/chest tires your triceps so your tricep workout is weaker
or after chest/shoulders you SHOULD do triceps to really work those triceps the hardest
working triceps on back/legs day means you 'overtrain' your triceps since you also train them with shoulders and chest...
I don't know which theories to believe anymore...
I just listen to my body... if my triceps can't even do a 5 rep set, I geuss it's time to go home... as long as I still push out reps and finish the set, go harder...
I'm starting a new 10 week schedule from first of October, which might look like this:
Day 1: Legs + Arms + Abs
Day 2: Calves + Chest + Shoulders
Day 3: Legs + Arms + Abs
Day 4: Calves + Back + Shoulders
Triceps are a secondary muscle
..you're already working them out with your chest routine so essentially when you switch to the triceps portion of your workout the muscle should already be depleted and need very few exercises to expend the rest of it's energy.
But you should always switch your routines and get an arm day in there where you can focus on hitting both the bi/tricep with heavy weight while they're fresh.
good to see folks still going hard post the competition
I know I have.. comp was good motivation mang. Trynna get my before picture of the next comp to shit on my after picture for this comp.
Exercise Science was my undergrad major and 85% of studies on this topic showed that working secondary muscles (triceps) on the same day of primary muscles (chest) is the most beneficial
The best way to break down upper body workouts are by push/pull
Your push day will mainly consist of chest, shoulders, triceps in that order
Pull days = back, biceps, forearm
You can work out ur whole leg the same day
WEnt to the gym twice today.
BEAST MODE MUHFUCKA
my homies Ben & Jerry ain't too supportive of my lower abs,
but i'm still doing pretty good nonetheless.
Noody(@Noodles) gone look like Bruce Lee by the time of the next comp, @ J o o k you best mind unu self man
So check this out. If I was to do a chest / tri's routine would I split it up like...do my whole chest workout and THEN do my whole tricep workout? Normally I'll do supersets on the muscle groups I'm doing on any given day. Like a normal routine I would bounce back and fourth. But would super-setting be good when the muscle groups kinda overlap or should I finish ALL my sets on the chest THEN do ALL my sets on the tri's?
When I was a kid I thought Bruce Lee represented an unattainable masterpiece of small-man bodybuilding. Now, I realize he's no more special than I am. Or anybody. Hard work and dedication will make any man a legend who doesn't quit on himself. Gone are the days of dreaming and wishing. Here are the times of sweat, determination, and glory.
Personally I always superset hitting the same muscle groups..
I always want to get my core workouts out with fresh muscles when I do chest/tri's...
Flat bench Barbell/Dumbell
Incline bench Barbell/Dumbell
Occasionaly Decline Barbell/dumbell
from there my workouts vary in which case you could superset..
I do cross bench pull overs, butterflies, etc that focus primarily on the chest and allow my triceps a little time before I blow them out...
Then I usually do 2 sets of close grip bench
And tricep pulldowns superset with body weight skullcrushers....and I'll go to muscle failure with the skullcrushers then drop to my knees and push out what I still have left in my tri's...3 sets of those will have your tries engorged with blood.
I think I'm gonna stick to what I've been doing for the rest of the month then switch the routine up starting October and definitely try this out. The chest then tri's thing. Good lookin' out @Newportz - definitely appreciate the knowledge & hopefully some good gains come in the next couple months.
My tri's and shoulders are on fire today. Lol. Fucking A
