Never knew a new Riddick are in the making. Thanks for this.
good, the first 2 were entertaining...
Never saw them.
Heard the movie was based on Drizzt Do'Urden and it pissed me off that they didn't just make a god damn movie about Drizzt Do'Urden instead.
The Icewind Dale series > LOTR.
Yea, I fucking said it.
Drizzt > Aragorn
Breunor > Gimli
Regis > Frodo
Artemis Enteri shits on any villain in LOTR, and he's not even the main villain most of the series, shit the word villain in this case is arguable.
Catti-Brie > That dumb ass elf bitch that appears and does nothing.
Wulfgar > Everyone.
Artemis = best fantasy villain ever.
Menzoberranzean in this case.
DUDE YOU READ THAT ?????
HOLY FUCK THATS MY FAVORITE STORY OF ALL TIME! i wanted to be Drizzt so bad man... When i was a kid i played D&D and i always was a dark elf... and i was hardcore, i modelled my guy after Drizzt
DRIZZT and his onyxx panther will fuck your shit up, and goddamn at artemis...i was sad when hsi friend clacker(or whatever his name was) died... the underground crab thingy
im so happy i found someone else who rea that shit man
and nothing in the riddick story made me think of Drzzt do'urden and his life story...but i also didnt know that when i watched it.
did you ever go on to read the crystal shard trilogy?
I have read every piece of the Icewind Dale series up to Twin Swords (I think that was the last one I read).
I even read the Cleric Quintet.
Cadderly and Danica >>>>>>>>
Drizzt was never even my favorite character, always like Artemis and Wulfgar the most.
Drizzt pissed me off once he shacked up with Catti-Brie after Wulfgar DIED SAVING ALL THEIR FUCKING LIVES.
Holy shit no part of any other book ever made me more furious.
Drizzt, up until then, was this pillar of honor and loyalty, and he just gets it in with Catti-Brie, just like that?
After her husband sacrificed his own life so that you assholes can live?
Fuck man, I'm STILL pissed about that.
hhahahaha yeah man, i still got love for Drizzt though
and artemis entreri was a badass himself. I always wished they made this into a movie.
Forgotten realms>>> dragonlance
Word the fuck up.
Artemis solidified himself as my favorite during that climactic fight with Drizzt and he got pissed when someone interfered in their fair fight, that Artemis was losing.
Gotta respect that shit.
now that i look back on the riddick movies i still dont really see any connection to Drizzt
other than hes an outcast... if it is, it is in an abstract way
Isn't he from a race of underground people that can't look at light or some shit?
A race of super warriors that are evil but he's good?
yeah, i suppose thats the only connection, but shit i could connect forrest gump to riddick if i tried hard enough
i dunno, if riddick was their attempt at the drizzt do-urden story then they crapped all over drizzts legacy
Well, I mean, there aren't many stories centered around a guy exiled from an underground city of super warriors, who is himself a super warrior, dedicated to fighting the evil underground super warriors. All of whom have an aversion to light.
Doesn't he wield two blades as well?
That's pretty much Drizzt's thing.
i dont remember if he weilds two blades or not
i dont really remember details from movies haha...
still though, if thats the drizzt do'urden story they crapped all over R.A. Salvatore's idea
i suggest you watch it.... cuz the story lines dont work, in perfect dark riddick is fighting night time creatures, and in the cronicles of riddick he gets thrown in a prison and breaks out and seeks revenge..... it just doesnt feel like the same shit... i can see the connection, but its kinda abstract and an actual story about Drizzt would be much more satisfying lol
Ahhh I think we got confused.
I wasn't saying Chronicles of Riddick was based on Icewind Dale, I was saying the character of Riddick was based on Drizzt.
The storylines aren't similar, but the character is, from what I understand, even in affect.
Both are seemingly cold, methodical, and short-spoken warriors who came from a brutal underground city, became jaded by it, eventually were exiled, and then dedicated themselves to destroying that evil. Both have aversion to light.
The only difference I can see as someone who hasn't watched the movie between the two characters is that Drizzt was a scrawny, black skinned, purple-eyed elf, whereas Riddick was, fuckin' Vin Diesel.
Purely aesthetic, from what I understand.
All three of his matches vs Holyfield were great
Y'all in for a treat!
Riddick has surgically-enhanced eyes that allow him to see in the dark.
