Anyone got any links of songs they like/miss from the fairly distant past?

I often get tired of the new school shit and gotta go back to the days.

I used to play this song in my car when I was driving a group of people and feel so cool, but no one else ever knew what it was. Argh, college kids.

    Definitely.

Sadly I am only 23 so I can only know so much from the 80's, which is why I made this thread. I want to see what other people have that I can check out.

Sheeeit I'm only 21 lol. I'm just a fan of music, that's all I do is listen to music. Unfortunately most of my friends don't as much.

I get pissed when people think Bootie Brown from the Pharcyde is MC Chris too.

You really can't go wrong with any of the following artists who were putting it down in the 80's:

NWA, LL Cool J, Run DMC, Ice T, Public Enemy, Eric B and Rakim, Schooly D, Kurtis Blow, MC Shan & Marley Marl (and various Juice crew affiliates like Kane, Biz Markie, Masta Ace). All the Natives Tongues' groups got their starts in the late 80's, as well as NWA and all of its offshoots. I know I'm missing countless groups but these are the ones off the top of my head that definitely paved the way for the 90's explosion.

Homie raps like he hasn't heard rap, good or bad, in the last fifteen years. Bo-rang. Also the beat is cool, but the melody sounds like something out of a magic cavern in Final Fantasy and not in a dope way.
