Sup i recently purchased an $1800 cpu I will be using for recording and my beats

I already have a Soundblaster Audigy plat 2 external

I'm lookin for a good setup with mic, preamp that will get me some good quality.

Whats a good mic and lemme know if it would need a pre amp and if so whats a good one

I'm not looking to spend alot but want a clean crisp sound to it.

Right now im recording on a dynamic and it comes in iite but im lookin for better.

    Thanks

A monitor wouldn't push it up that damn high.
Those LCD mons are $300-400 on tigerdirect in 17-19", so wherever he bought from, was a rip.

    Hitman J, no not really.
You'd be better off getting a Studio Projects B1, M-Audio Nova, MXL V67G

    I got the MXL V67G + shockmount + pop filter for $130

I'm pretty satisfied with it... but sometimes I regret not getting the Studio Projects B1 cuz lots of people use it and are happy with it but I'm kinda happy cuz AON knows a lot about equipment and he seems to be a fan of the MXL V67G I've seen him mention it a few times when it comes down to low budget microphones. But I'm not sure about the type of voice the MXL V67G is designed for.

I'm not exactly a "fan" of MXL products, because I'm more of that... bang for the buck guy.
However, I can say for the price, it's always a good choice, it's warm, slightly slightly dark, and for $99, you can't go wrong.

Oh, check EBay, I've seen them offer the 67G, stand, shockmount for $99 shipped.

And as you mentioned, I do suggest it alot for low budget applications.

For low budget, $200 and under I suggest the following mics.

    M-Audio Luna
    AT 3035
    ADK A-51
    Studio Projects B1, C1
    MXL V67G
    Oktava 319

With those mics in your mic locker, you can cover a wide range of applications, and for all of those listed, it'd run you about just over $1,000

    S.C w pre- $500
    Mons $400
    Mic $400
