Record vocals?

    I got a computer gonna start recording,, what kind of software do u guys suggest? what equipment should i get on cheap status any suggestions?

    Well for recording there is alot of good free software like Reaper or Audacity... Untill u say what is ur budget i can't help u more

    Cubase is pretty straightforward and the equipment is cheaper than the Mbox line you have to get with protools.

    So start there... you can probably pick up a used 2 channel audio interface online... keep an eye out for edirols, or the alesis io2. They're exactly what you need.

    If you're trying to record at an album quality you'll need a good mic. The audio technica condensor mics are pretty standard in studios here start around $200... but rent a few different ones and try them out. If you want to just fuck around you can grab a SM58 and a good pop guard...
