...some of those people make me actually cross that brand off the list of places I'd ever consider making a purchase.

Could say same for product placement in videos. Something about creating mass hipsteria over an item that comes across too shallow and pointless.

Gucci Mane for one, there's also a "Versace" running around.

I didn't even think about that. I guess since the word "gucci" kinda got implemented as urban slang for "good".

For example is somebody asks if you're alright. You could respond "I'm gucci". :scared:

Any others come to mind. I'm coming to the end of a 65 hour work week and up all night. Can't think of any, ATM.

Urban slang needs some fresh air if it's getting stuck in a limited comfort zone of using something as "gucci" for good (surprised it's not "Gotti" instead of "Gucci" tho, :funny:).

I'm sure there's more out there - knowing how rap&fashion are glued together.

Get some decent sleep, will ya. :)

yeah, the shit is fuckin' pathetic if you ask me. funny thing is, i seriously doubt these corny rappers are gettin' paid by the brand(s) for promoting the shit. if they're gettin' paid, that's a little bit more respectable but otherwise they're just a whore.

Surprised none of these brands have embarked on a lawsuit rampage - but I guess it's free marketing for them.

Exactly.....high fashion labels do not want any relation to rap music, as it can hurt their image badly......Look at tommy hilfiger...that road the rap wave, made a shit load, but is now far less respected as a brand......Polo seems to be the one brand that is not hurt by rappers boasting it....even Burberry dipped in popularity after it entered the hip-hiop fashion world, and they only years later came back as the expensive British preppy clothing brand , think it took a hit financially too. i think gucci is in a bad place for men, they have done some very gouty things with their name on cloths and shoes......

some shit is prolly fake and not even made by them

Burberry got fucked over because thier stuff was so easy to fake, just throw that pattern on something and you have burberry shit. In england it got to the point where no one even wanted to buy burberry because people would just think it was fake.

yea the streets were flodded with it....not just cause it is easy to fake, as every brand is easy to fake, but more cause a market for it appeared in a different demographic.....It was in pop culture......gucci, louis and Burberry were at gas stations and all over canal as they still are......
