If you can't be satisfied with east coast hip hop, then why can't we be unsatisfied with contemporary R&B?

Out of those names you listed, I'm only feelin' Badu... J-Hud got some good tracks, but the fact that T-Pain is on there wrecks it... in fact, T-Pain destroys any song that he's on... and I don't mean in a good way... everybody else? Ehh... I haven't given Solange a chance, though, because I see her as another "Ray J"... kid sibling tag-along.... Keyshia is fuckable, but I don't like her music.

There's like 3-5 new names I'm feelin' in R&B over the last 5 years... Corrine Bailey Rae, J-Hud (great voice and song-writing, if only she can limit those guest appearances), Chrisette Michelle, Robin Thicke, and some of Anthony Hamilton, although he's not brand new... he didn't really blow until '03 or '04.

The difference is that with East Coast hip hop nobody drops albums and rappers have shorter careers than singers.

If you're only feeling Badu out of all those then I don't know what to tell you. Jamie Foxx tore it down on his last two albums, NeYo aint slowing down and neither is Lloyd. John Legend is on his game and a slew of others like R.Kelly, Raphael Saadiq, Usher, Ledisi etc. and that's not even to mention the currently popular people like Rihanna, Ciara, Beyonce. You telling me you didn't like anything except for Badu's album? With all that shit that dropped the past two years you have to like something....if not then Get your thumb out ya ass.

Solange album was better than Beyonce's album in my opinion...that was one R&B album I hated last year as well as that Chris Brown's sophomore.

5 new names is pretty good. How many new singers do you need a year? I only need 1 or 2 and last year(08) Karina and Jazmine Sullivan did it for me. Maybe you want something else?

Corrine Bailey Rae is 5 stars, Jennifer Hudson also amazing, Chrisette Michele is great, Robin Thicke..ehh sometimes, Anthony Hamilton is jamming.

Also though Teedra where the fuck is my 2nd album Moses came out in 04, Governor, Amy Winehouse, Estelle, Joss Stone in the last few years.

this year Keri Hilson is about to drop her album and I'm sure someone new will arrive on the scene. Bobby V and Ryan Leslie already got albums

Ugh. I'm sorry but I absolutely hat his voice and think it's horrendous. Like it back when he came with Just A Friend and Let Me Love You. I thought it was OK, but as he got a little older and the voice got a little deeper, shit sounded absolutely horrible.

IMO should not even be singing.

RNB died when every song had the same timbo beat and you couldn't tell the singers apart.

R&B music died after the 90's. I agree with the threadstarter. I like r&b artists who do uptempo party songs because i can't stand listening to albums that got a bunch of love songs because love songs are boring to me. I'm gonna name the only r&b artists i listen to that has done lots of party songs.

    Zapp
    Parliament/Funkadelic
    Ready For The World
    The Gap Band
The Deele(Babyface used to be with this group)
    The Time
    Lakeside
    Dazz Band
    The Jacksons
    New Edition
    Bell Biv Devoe
    Bobby Brown
    Guy
    Tony Toni Tone
    Kool And The Gang
    Earth Wind And Fire

R&B music is too boring now and it has been that way for a long time. I don't listen to none of these new artists because they suck.

This generation doesn't have real singers!!!!!

Not knocking any young artist but, you can't compare artist like Trey songz, The dream, T-pain, or even chris brown to artist like R.Kelly, Tank, Brian mcknight, or Usher. They sound ah'ight but, they couldn't hold a mic to any of the older r&B singers. http://soundclick.com/beatsbyvsmoove
