honestly poetry is one of the hardest field to get into, getting a deal requires alot of work on your part. the easiest ways to break into the field are to try getting pieces into magazines and poetry contests. try poets and writers magazine's website, atlantic monthly journal, glimmer train, and you can even try the new yorker. most major publishing houses don't accept unsolicited manuscripts so if you want to go that route you might need to get an agent. another option is trying print on demand publishers, self publishing, e-books, or subsidary publishers. these are all all viable options but you have to put a lot of time into those other options. if you self publishing and along those lines will cost you money, the cheapest i've seen is 500 dollars for a certain amount of books.

you can look at some of these websites to get an idea of the cost 1stbooks.com, xlibris.com, iuniverse.com. The result is that most published authors get books for the satisfaction of having a book and not necessarily for the fame. like i said it's tough to get into the poetry field without a name like giovanni, sanchez, ets. good luck with your aspirations, if you have any questions holla
