The average demo is anywhere from 2-5gig, which can vary in download time depending on what kind of connection you're plugged into.

I would suggest plugging a LAN line into your PS3 for shorter download times, but you should expect to see a 1-2 hour average for any notable game demos.

DLC shouldn't take as long, as its usually under a gig. Sometimes you get a huge update for games, if you bought it a while after release, but thats about it.

I dont know what a LAN line is .... I'll google it - thanks though.

I got to the stage where I wanted to smash the damn thing with a hammer, first off a huge ass update which took the best part of an hour, it was the first time I signed on to my PS3 account, & then the wait for the demo DL.
meh, like I said it seemed a real long wait.

thanks for the suggestion, I'll peep the details.

i don't know what a LAN line is either. he probably means ethernet cable. which basically means 'wired internet'.

in which case i must inform you that wireless internet is complete shit for online gaming in any capacity
even if you think you're having a good time you're probably ruining it for people playing with you
especially fighting games/games that demand button input precision + eye/hand coordination

Yeah, I just meant going with a wired connection - because a wireless connection is pretty useless when it comes to online gaming.

oh ok ... thats what I have - a long cable from desktop to PS3

thanks guys, like I said I was hoping that the DL time was some sort of blip on my part.
looks like I wont be doing that often, I'll just use it for extra content

i go through a wireless gigabyte router, it has never taken an hour to dl a demo...i don't keep track of the time, because it's usually quick. if anything takes more than 20 minutes i'm thinking something is wrong.
